Playground Fuzz

I am a sucker for Tonebenders, so I had to try this one. It will definitely go on the board. The treble/bass pot plays interestingly with the fuzz. As you increase the bass, it feels that the fuzz is less aggressive. I like that feature and the way that pot adjusts the treble and bass.

At first, I tried transistors that matched @Robert ’s documentation. However, I tested them on the breadboard, but I made a breadboarding mistake. I used a 6.8 nF capacitor for C5, which is actually 6.8 uF. I didn’t like the spec transistor values when using the faulty breadboard, so I ended up choosing a transitional Tonebender HFE selection.

When I loaded up the board, I saw my mistake. I also didn’t have a 6.8 uF cap, so I used a 10 uF cap (which was used for some Park Fuzz variants). I rolled the dice and used my selected transistors.

When it fired up, it raged! It is fantastic and has a slightly different Tonebender texture that I like. If you are a fan of Tonebenders, give it a go.

FYI-
Q 1: 69 and 0 leakage
Q 2: 74 and 0 leakage
Q 3: 124 and 453 mA leakage.

I like how you incorporated the Cliff washer!

Small suggestion for the future: You can ditch one of those ground wires off the jacks, unless one of them is the ground for the DC Jack, which means ignore me…

This looks so killer. That color enclosure rules, your build is clean, and that dtf sticker looks great. I'm gonna have to look into that. I've always liked the park fuzz, too

Edit: what's the cost for the dtf sticker?

The cost of the sticker can vary. You order per “gang,” which is the sheet of the sticker. The gang was 12 ins by 24 ins. To make it cost effective, you need to fill up the sheet with pedal art. I printed 2 stickers per pedal, because I did screw up the placement of one of them. I would estimate that you could ~12 single print 125 b sized pedals. The size of gang that I used was $19, so that would have the art cost less than $1 per pedal.
