This pedal can be assembled in just a few hours and it sounds great.

First I am a big fan of the Matte clear 1590b. Very lovely feel and easy to work with. The Southern Belle board is diminutive so I stuck it in a 1590b. The circuit is bitey and it has some great tone. Honestly it gets hard to tell all of these tube screamers apart. I enjoy the ones with a tight sound. This one uses common components that we all have laying around. I used the Lumberg jacks because they are a space saver. I did not socket anything or plan for the 1590b. I used a 3mm LED with a Tayda bezel and green anodized aluminum knobs.

Basically its a tweaked Lightspeed with additional hardclippers. I had the chance to compare my Sheepylove Speedy Sheep version of the Lightspeed with an original Southland. While the Lightspeed has more of a neutral dirty booster or overdrive, the southland is a refined Distortion. The southland played very nice with my Fenders and brought a more rawk tone into to a light overdriven Fender.
