Pepperbox / Volt Thrower - 18v -> 36v!

I built an Effects Layouts Pepperbox awhile back that I love. I just learned today that the Volt Thrower, of which Pepperbox is a clone, can take an 18v power input, and I am wondering if the Pepperbox can do the same. Seems likely, but I'm not certain and I don't wanna kill the thing. Help

If you used a 5817 and a ltc1144, and caps rated for the higher voltage, you can try.
Note, it is running at 18v. +9/-9 rails.
Note that +/-18v is the maximum rating for both the 1144 and LM308/OP07s.
So, you would be running the circuit at it's absolute maximum and the 5817 is a 20v diode so if your power supply spikes...

I'm going to bet that position 6(no clipping) is the only spot you'll get much audible change. In every other position, the hard clipping is going to dominate, regardless of headroom of the gain stages.
Great info, thank you! I've been using it with a guitar on one of the gentler clipping settings but have just started playing bass again, kind of experiencing the pedal anew. I have a CS12 so might push it to 12 instead of 18 for now.

I use the ltc1144 for a +/-18v circuit, works great for clean circuits, but if you are clipping it anyways, may not be worth the 10 bucks of the charge pump honestly, maybe try 12v first with something cheaper like a 7660 and if you hear no difference, you saved 10 bucks :)
