    Binaura Stereo FV-1

So I'm not sure how diy friendly this is going to be, but this looks like something that is trying to be a more powerful (albeit more complicated and more expensive) version of an fv-1. Maybe someday I'll be smart enough to figure this kind of stuff out ...

You are indeed correct that the LEDs are always in the circuit! However, this is a clever trick as when you have the 1n4148s selected, their forward voltage is low enough that there I nothing left for the LEDs to clip. Same with the asymmetrical. You can do this in any clipping setup as long as...

    Gauss Drive detented pots

I'm pretty sure smallbear has them but unfortunately they're down right now due to the virus.

    PimpSoul

This is super cool! Would love to build one of these myself!

How do I add a bass pot to a...

Alternatively for a blues breaker with a bass control, check out the Parthenon. It adds a baxandall style bass and treble control after the clipping. If you're wanting to do a simple mod though, the Timmy style bass control is much easier to implement!

    Carmine Overdrive OC139 replacement

I made a few boards of these as a way to learn eagle and used this schematic. Hope this helps!

    EQD Monarch

Absolutely brilliant work yet again, Mr. Bones! I think removing both of those caps and replacing with jumpers is a great solution. Looks like I need to learn how to use ltspice because this is wonderful.

    Test Box

Also add in a headphone amp, signal generator, test probe, and charge pump for -9v, 9v, 12v, 18v would be sweet! I made something like this and found it extremely useful with all of these features. Would very much love to see a clean pedalpcb version though!

Spaceman Effects Gemini III Dual Fuzz

Maybe if pedalpcb is feeling extra ambitious he'll make both the III and IV! ? I'd build both!

    Binaura Stereo FV-1

I'll go ahead and say I prefer TRS jacks for stereo pedals. A lot of the stereo pedals I use are already that way so using TRS cables is a lot handier than 2 TS cables to join them. I'm definitely fine with 1590BB though and leaving it up to us which type of jack we want to use.

    Orange Amp In a Box?

So I built this guy last year based on an orange preamp. The FAC switch is really neat and really enjoyed how it sounded. https://pcbguitarmania.com/product/clockwork-orange/

    Rat - Increase Volume?

Thanks for all of the responses! I have definitely been doing lots of experimenting on this and have been learning a lot in the process. I actually did use a PF5102 instead and have been getting some nice volume bumps to go along with it. I'm still tweaking how much gain I actually want out of...

    Rat - Increase Volume?

But that's not as much fun! ? haha Mostly I'm just curious if I'm on to something and if this is a correct way to turn a buffer into a boost.

    Rat - Increase Volume?

So I've been playing around with the Rat circuit a bunch lately and have found I really like the sound with germanium clippers. The only thing is, it drops the volume quite a bit with how hard it's clipping. Would it be possible to tweak things around a bit with the JFET buffer to instead act...

buffalo fx m-1 stacked rams head

I just checked the build docs for this and realized there isn't a schematic. Is that something you could update on there? Thanks!

That's a good idea! I've been doing it in batches and probably won't be making enclosures for another month or so but I'd be happy to share.

Thanks Chuck! The finish is a technique I've been working on for a while now. First I use Birchwood Casey aluminum black as a base layer. Then I splotch on some paints that I only let partially dry before running it under water to get those unique textures. Posca paint pens for the lettering...

    Muroidea

Really happy with how this one turned out! It's a classic rat with a sweet LM208, tantalum caps, and a 3way clipping switch (1n4148s, red LEDs, bat41 & bat41-1n4148 for asymmetrical). The asymmetrical sounds especially fantastic and is something I'd recommend to try if you haven't already. In...
