    DC jack question

Yea I ended up finding these(pictured) and I dont like how they will end up sticking out a bunch but they'll work, or I also figured I could use 2pin jst's with the dc jacks that are more flush and have a slightly offset hole. Im going to look into option 2 that you mentioned as well because I...

    DC jack question

So I almost ordered these jacks (pictured) and luckily realised that we use center negative (Im new). However I also noticed that these have 3 legs, does anyone know if I can use these or do the metal threads interfere with my hopes? I did read something about one of those legs being for...

    Footswitch ideas

yea I hadnt even thought about about alternatives to a microcontroller so Im glad you posted what you did, cause its definetly easier to learn I think, and yea more cost efficient. As for size, I havent really done any builds yet but I want to know as much as I can before I attempt anything, so...

    Footswitch ideas

Ok, yea Im in canada so futurelec, digikey, mouser. If its stuff I may not end up using or may end up destroying in the process of trying to use it, aliexpress lol. When you say large you do mean physically large or something else? Just want to me sure I understand that for sure. and if you do...

Which soldering iron do you like?

yea I have a bunch of it, bought it when I bought the iron from the source (canadian radioshack). Back then I just assumed solder solder is solder and lead free sounded like a good thing, Ive used it a few times when I had nothing else but I hate it with a passion. Though, if my iron got hot...

    Footswitch ideas

hey, so Ive been trying to figure things out on this and I think Im understanding what needs to be understood but I figured Id ask just to make sure cause you seem to know these things. I found this: 5V HK19F-DC5V-SHG (datasheet link: https://grobotronics.com/images/datasheets/HK19F-12V.pdf) and...

Which soldering iron do you like?

okthat sounds good, however after you mentioned lower wattage irons being weak enough to not damage sensitive things what are your thoughts on a 15watt, I mean I have used mine for years now and it does work, its just frustrating at times (especially when trying to use non-leaded solder). I have...

Which soldering iron do you like?

yea thats how I feel about my current iron, takes forever to heat up and when I use a damp sponge sponge for cleaning, it seems to take forever to heat up again after the fact.

Which soldering iron do you like?

thanks Ill give it a look, at a glance I see it goes up to 900 F (480 C) so I can basically assume anything that is variable temp and can get as hot as roughly 480C should pretty much work for me then eh?

Which soldering iron do you like?

So what are good starting points for soldering irons? Ive seen so many things lately that my brain is fried, currently Im "using" a 15watt nexxtech that Ive had for years. Its done the job for the tings Ive used it for but Im certain I should upgrade. Im assuming 60w is good enough but also at...

Thats some awesome stuff, thank you for sharing it eh. By chance do you know alternative relays for this? Or what I should be looking for in a relay?
