    Even more new Tayda colors!

I just received my latest order that had matte black sand texture and it looks like they switched their supply. This time around they were much more "sandy", if that makes sense. Flatter look, zero sheen, more texture. The plastic wrap around the enclosures was also different, but thankfully...

pcb "wonder drive" from pedalpcb ?

Oh yea that’s for sure a near direct copy. I’ve copied a few PCBs from PedalPCB to practice PCB design, produced one to test out, but haven’t even thought of selling anything like that. I’m waiting until I feel confident enough to design my own layout and make it unique in some way. At least...

    Even more new Tayda colors!

Oh man, that hammered white looks like it could be awesome. Would love to see a more clear picture to confirm the gold accents in it, as it would be perfect for an upcoming project I'm doing. Looks to me like Tayda is going towards more durable finishes that are less prone to troubleshooting...

    Tayda UV Print Issues

If you didn’t hear from Tayda, everything was fine on their end from a later/swatch point. The biggest issue that happens with Tayda printing (and I should probably just write up a tutorial on troubleshooting because I’ve had MANY issues) is that the original file needs to be edited/fixed and...

Anyone willing to doublecheck my Tayda UV pdf? (also question about finish)

Yes, I always print the white layer twice. Granted, I always used matte black enclosures, so it’s necessary. For lighter color enclosures it may be fine to do just once, but darker, I would absolutely say it’s necessary. Especially for anything that is pure white in the design.

Anyone willing to doublecheck my Tayda UV pdf? (also question about finish)

Ok just checked the order and the left one is NO gloss, the right one is matte gloss. On second look, the matte gloss does have a slight sheen to it versus the no gloss. I’ll try and upload a video to show the difference. Again, it’s very minimal, and almost indiscernible unless you’re looking...

Anyone willing to doublecheck my Tayda UV pdf? (also question about finish)

Here’s some pictures. I’ll be honest, I don’t even know which one is which.

Anyone willing to doublecheck my Tayda UV pdf? (also question about finish)

For the differences between the finishes, think of them in terms of paint finishes: Gloss Varnish: High-Gloss Gloss Matte: Flat/Matte No Gloss: Eggshell I have an enclosure I had done twice, one with the matte gloss and one with no gloss. Just wanted to see the difference. To be honest, not...

    Universal Color Codes for Wiring?

I go: + Red - Black GND - Green IN - Purple OUT - Orange SW - Red Reasoning: power is obvious. I like to differentiate audio ground from power negative, so it’s green, like the ground (grass). Out is Orange because orange starts with O. In is purple because Indigo starts with I and even...

New MacBook Needed: help me choose

You’re a legend for this. I checked out Best Buy as well, and they have a sale going on. They have these two options at a similar price point: So MacBook Air with more RAM, larger screen, or MBP with M4 chip, higher resolution screen. Hmmmm.

New MacBook Needed: help me choose

It’s time. I’ve had an iMac for around eight years now, and it is finally giving me enough issues that I need to move on. Namely, the OS can no longer update. I want to move into a new MacBook, but it’s been so long since I’ve looked into something like this that I will require some assistance...

    SOLVED LED alway on Greengage

So when you say you removed the board, did you remove the LED as well? As in, did you eliminate the enclosure altogether from the equation? If the LED is staying lit, it means the ground connection is there. If you did remove everything entirely from the enclosure - and I mean everything...

    SOLVED UniCab not working

When you say 400°, do you mean Fahrenheit, or Celsius? I hope Celsius, but given the heat transfer issues, it’s either F, or a very dirty tip. In order to transfer to both the lead and the pad, you’ll need a lot of heat (I’m at 340° C - 644° F), a clean tip (make sure you’re wiping it on either...

    SOLVED UniCab not working

Now you listen, ain’t no giving up here. We’ve all been there, so let’s get this thing working and get your confidence back up. You got this. More pictures would be helpful. Looking at those solder joints, they seem a bit cold, so it could be as simple as a cold/broken joint somewhere that...

Son of Ben biased but sounds farty

I don’t feel like searching it down, but there was a thread somewhere on the interwebs about this. The original Bensons had trim pots for Q2 and 3, but just a 2k resistor biasing Q1. There is an unknown reason for this, but that’s why the build documentation says that. In the unit tested, Q1...
