op amp bias voltage divider - resistor values?

i'm very new at this, but is C2 not there to take care of noise or ripple?

op amp bias voltage divider - resistor values?

if the 10uF capacitor on the sour grape's bias voltage is smallish, isn't the 220nF one on the dream fuzz tiny by comparison?

op amp bias voltage divider - resistor values?

fair! here's the sour grape (rotten apple): and here's the dream fuzz (original op amp big muff):

op amp bias voltage divider - resistor values?

is that just a buffered bias voltage supply? i was planning on using it for an active baxandall tone control. but i also might want to add a clean blend which would also require at least one more op amp

op amp bias voltage divider - resistor values?

so the only other thing that the bias voltage is connected to is the unused op-amp in the TL074. the clipping diodes are in the negative feedback loop of the op-amp in question so i'm not sure what you mean about other circuits drawing from that bias

op amp bias voltage divider - resistor values?

i should mention, the sour grape uses 3 sections of a TL074, whereas the original op amp big muff uses a 741 for the clipping stage that has the asymmetrical bias voltage

op amp bias voltage divider - resistor values?

hi all, i've been playing around with the sour grape (keeley rotten apple) circuit, which is based on the op amp big muff ("dream fuzz"). so in comparing and contrasting the two, i noticed something interesting about the original op amp big muff -- the clipping stage op amp is biased by a...

Blue Waffle (ish) into Sour Grape

Five year old thread, but what effect does changing or omitting those caps have on the sound? Does increasing the 1uFs to 1.5 let more bass through? Does omitting the clipping cap let more treble through?

So this is where I am with my Pandora...

i have a more general question about this kind of negative feedback loop high pass if you don't mind: i understand that in the negative feedback loop, everything is kind of topsy-turvy backwards world because the signal that passes through it gets cancelled out, whereas the signal that gets...

So this is where I am with my Pandora...

would C1K still be the right pot if i go with the 100uF cap? i'd like to be able to dial in green russian big muff levels of low end at the extremes

So this is where I am with my Pandora...

hi @Chuck D. Bones, old thread i know but i had a quick question about this mod -- i get the basic idea of how it works, but i'm not clear on one thing -- does turning the C5K pot work by changing the series resistance to ground, which in conjunction with the 47uF cap changes the corner...

pandora's box / expandora -- increase max gain

right, so i could increase the resistance to the LED portion of the optocoupler, thus decreasing the brightness of the LED, and increasing the resistance of the LDR. seems like a difficult way to try to increase the range though. i'd still like it to be as clean at the low end of the range as it...

    Informant zero gain mod

what happens now when you turn the DRV knob all the way down, and what would you rather have happen?

pandora's box / expandora -- increase max gain

hi all, i'm just about finished building my pandora's box with a couple of mods -- i added the CB bass mod, and borrowed the "drive knob" mod from the aion dynamo, which replaces the two switches with a B1K pot and 240R fixed resistor, for a variable resistance of 240R to 1.24K, a greater range...

    feedback in a 2-stage phaser?

can you explain a little more? if i had a switchable 2/4/6 stage phaser with a feedback control, would the feedback cause problems when switching it to 2 stages?

Looking to trade vintage components (a mix of NOS and harvested) for potentiometers, ICs, jacks, footswitches, and enclosures.

probably your best bet is to put these things on eBay and then use the money to buy the parts you need. fiat currency exists for a reason!

Best DC jacks and mounting procedure

I believe centre-negative became the standard for guitar pedals because it made it easier to automatically switch the battery off when the DC jack was plugged in. now that batteries are practically obsolete in guitar pedals it doesn't make a lot of sense anymore, but it's the standard now and we...

Best DC jacks and mounting procedure

i thought about it just a little harder and now i get why all of these have plastic exteriors. i thought the metal ones looked so great next to the input and output jacks, but... yeah, positive sleeve. makes sense.

    feedback in a 2-stage phaser?

hi all, i'm in the process of designing a phaser with switchable stages and from most of the circuit designs i've seen it seems like people generally try to avoid feedback for 2-stage phasers -- the MXR phase 95 and pedalPCB XC phase just put the feedback control after the 2/4 stage switch so...

Best DC jacks and mounting procedure

okay i take it back, didn't see that. good thing you mentioned it before i hit checkout on my tayda order. anybody got a lead on some different externally-threaded DC jacks for a good price?
