I made my discharge tool out of 10ga wire (I have 1500'), a 22k 5w resistor, heat shrink, a bamboo skewer, and tie wraps. No melted metal when you do it with a resistor. Without it's a very loud pop and the end of your screwdriver is missing.
Oops, two part question. Yeah, just the power caps. Be sure you touch the positive leads of each cap and watch the MM as it drains. So two alligator clips.
VERY important to stick your UNUSED hand in your belt behind your back. If that hand is touching ground, and you inadvertently touch high voltage with your other hand the current will flow across your heart and stop it or cause defibrillation!!! Be sure someone in the house is with you and...
And yet in the article they say there's too little research. This is a story designed to generate more revenue for "scientists" like the one I mentioned who live on grant money.
Like Abraham Lincoln said "You can't trust everything you read on the internet"
I saw this one article about how all fish have nano-plastics in them. After researching the researcher I found the article was based on the work of an anti-plastic activist who collected samples of water from mud...
Mojotone makes a DR504 kit now. This is the Hiwatt that David Gilmore plays. I built one NOT from a kit back in 2008. There was a guy on the Vintage Amp forum that made the chassis and faceplates so I bought six from him. Sold three and it paid for the three I kept.
This amp sounds the same...
I know next to nothing about this amp, other than I have heard a lot of complaints.
I think the problem is in the name and the usage. 'Hot Rod' deluxe, as I'm looking at the input stage I see the bias is done with a 47uf 1.5k which is very unFenderIsh. And a 250k volume pot?
I think maybe...
Did you use a noisy device? Those spiral neon bulbs are VERY noisy, so are most 120v outlets and even switches. I have an EMR detector and was shocked to see outlets put out more noise than wifi.
I have tested orange drops before, with my handy dandy polarity reversing audio tester. Turn...
The outer foil acts like shielding when it's connected to the side with the least impedance, so the caps won't pickup stray EM from the heaters or transformers.
If you have an oscilloscope there's 'how to' use those to find foil end on youtube, but you can construct a simple audio tester see...
Looking sweet!
Since I just finished my 5F6-A bassman board today, I think your foil end is wrong in one spot..... This is a layout showing the proper bassman foil end directions. Since Jim Marshall admitted he copied this design when making the JTM45.....
And but of course a pic of the...
I just got my Dunlop 65 lemon oil and Tun-Sol reissue 5AR4 from CE today for the Bassman I'm building. I needed five more bucks to make the $50 minimum and I've never tried it on my necks. Always just used wax, but I hear it works well.
