    MOSFET body diode

Did you ever see this @Chuck D. Bones? An interesting way to lower the Vf whilst maintaining the softness. https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?t=32532&sid=9f44ed4305fd2974e985312204732e2c

    STM32

Apparently STM32 can be programmed via Arduino IDE too. https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/how-to-program-and-debug-the-stm32-using-the-arduino-ide/ta-p/608514

    STM32

Has anyone here used an STM32 as a microcontroller for switching? The reason I ask is that JLC has a few as a basic part for assembly. Just wondering how easy it is to program. I'm guessing you would need pins on the pcb in order to flash the firmware onto it. ESP32 boards are cheap on...

Using the same dual op amp for both input and output stage - bad idea?

This topology is super interesting. http://milas.spb.ru/~kmg/jcm800fetLnd150_en.html

    Marshall pedals: JCM800 vs 1959

They're disappointingly simple from what I've seen.

Using the same dual op amp for both input and output stage - bad idea?

Would be curious to see the schem too. I recently went down the LND150 rabbit hole. I'm quite keen to experiment with them some times soon.

Analog Tube Power amp simulator: studying possibilities

Yeah for me personally I would only be using this system line out. I guess my thinking is the reactive load will make the transformer and feedback network a little more amp like. I'm guessing the output power scales with the input? Or is that not how it works?

Analog Tube Power amp simulator: studying possibilities

To be honest I think the bottom picture is basically the entire design? The only thing I can't figure out is where the signal exits the circuit? It's laid out in a funny way but it's basically a LTP into push pull. If we could modify it to use MOSFETS or power BJTs for the output to drive the...

Analog Tube Power amp simulator: studying possibilities

I've been thinking about this a bit today. In order to simulate this could we not actually just make a ~0W power amp? We could even include an inductive load to sink a couple watts if necessary. JFET / BJT LTP Phase splitter, into MOSFET push pull output, into a transformer with negative...

Tubes 101 - Intro to Tube Preamp Design

I'm just getting into tube preamp designs, as in I did the ADHD thing of buying a bunch Russian Sub-mini tubes, whilst still reading about the basics ha ha. I'm hoping to get some insight into the power / voltage flow. In your (@vigilante398) Black Eye design, I see that C9 and C10 are high...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

I have the F1 and I really like it. It does that ever so slightly crunchy clean super well and is a great pedal platform pre-amp.

    Performance of Various Transformers

Hey folks, I tested a bunch of cheap transformers for use in pedal design. I won't replicate the post here, the full thing is over at GroupDIY. I think the Hammond 142 series one are the most interesting. Despite claiming a frequency response of 200 - 15khz they actually extended all the way...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

It's interesting how the J201 kind of just became the standard for these types of circuits. Was the J113 just not really around back then?

    LiveSpice

Does anyone here use LiveSpice? I like that you can change components and instantly hear the effect and feel by just playing your guitar, also allows useful stuff like adding power amp sim and cab IR afterwards if you use the VST version. The only problem is, the component selection is quite...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

I'd love to discuss the theory behind these pedals a bit more. Did we ever get to the bottom of the purpose of the J177? Also, why do the FETs not need to be biased individually, is it something about the design, or is the parameter spread of the 2sk280-R just really tight?

    Create Reusable Patterns

Hey folks! So some elements of my circuit designs get a lot of use, like this JFET buffer for instance. What I want is to be able to save this as a component so that I can just add the whole buffer circuit to a schematic and have it pre-laid out once I go to the PCB layout phase and have all...

    Topor Lite

Might be a weird request, but did anyone ever get a copy of ToporLite, I guess preferably v7. Seems impossible to get off the internet now as the Emerex site is really badly maintained and they've moved on to this Delta Design platform.

Most Economic Way to Get Daughter Boards Printed

That's actually what I wanted to hear. Will make it much easier to solder all the components on that way.
