    Texel Boost

How satisfied are you with the quality of the silkscreen detail? I was a bit afraid about it so I did the same but in a "signal without solder mask" so it is shiny at the end. I also used an aluminium board with a 1mm thickness (JLCPCB). Tried to make "etched pot marks" but it is not as visible...

Particle Accelerator - Alembic F-2B clone

I am genuinely curious if you can hear the difference. Did you try to test different capacitors side by side in this circuit? There is a lot of information online about this but it is usually without evidence. I am currently working on a design where I would like to test it.

    Jolly Meow (tube preamp)

Little update. I swapped pins of those 2 pots today. It works as expected now. Also slight correction about the voltage. It is 242V for B+ and ít draws 278mA at 12V from the power supply. The heater is set to 6V. Switches offer mid-boost, deep and bright. All of them are pretty useful. I like...

    Bring out yer Diptrace

It does. You need to "save as" not export.

    Bring out yer Diptrace

have you tried the DXF method I have mentioned? There is also this project but I haven't tried it yet. You could convert SVG to gerber and import it into your project. https://github.com/jaseg/gerbolyze

    Jolly Meow (tube preamp)

So good news and bad news. It works quite well. I had it in front of blues junior and it can definitely add some new flavour to the sound. The bad news is I am an idiot sandwich and I swapped mid and bass pot pins so they go in the opposite direction. They are log pots so the behaviour is not...

    Bring out yer Diptrace

Export as DXF from your vector drawing program and import it in Diptrace as a layer of your preference. It is a bit clumsy and you need to find the config that works. If I remember correctly everything needs to be in curves.

    Jolly Meow (tube preamp)

Thanks. Well yes, I think we are talking about the same guy. There is this guy and also this post in this section where you can find inspiration. ;) I will try it in about 2 hours hopefully in the rehearsal room. I don't have an amp at home and my motivation was also to have this as a...

    Jolly Meow (tube preamp)

Thanks, I did it myself using a step drill for circular holes and I have access to a hobby-grade milling machine but it is hand-operated so it is a bit flimsy and time-consuming.

    Jolly Meow (tube preamp)

This is my take on the infamous <you can guess the model> Two Rock preamp. The layout was heavily inspired by Vahlbruch Kaluna. The plate voltage SMPS is my own design and I am also using a buck converter for the heater. It is still a work in progress. I have learnt a lot, but it was also in the...

    Algorithmic Reverb for Terrarium

At the end you don't want to reinvent the wheel. If you need to change a lot of parameters the display and rotary encoder or push buttons is the way to go. Of course you need to create some UI which is another task on top of all the things.

    TO-5 Sockets

If you have SLA 3D printer you can print them and use pins from the inline socket header. I had the same problem and made it like this. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5266020

    Bring out yer Diptrace

Name of the "pedal-company-to-be" sounds about right. :D I was thinking about naming the pedal Brünnhilde fuzz. It is also a goddess and a cat... https://www.loc.gov/resource/ppmsca.51533/

    Bring out yer Diptrace

I have this design in a to-do drawer. It is my take on Freia fuzz with an integrated switch and the possibility of midi switching. Nothing tested yet. I sadly don't have the resources to push it to production.

DEMO ROG Umble (and my new Telecaster)

This was one of my first pedals several years ago. Then I housed it in an enclosure from Tayda. I did exactly what @ICTRock mentions with the boost switch. It connects/disconnects the cap on the first gain stage I guess (I don't remember). Also picking JFETs with the right Vgsoff makes a lot of...

    Diplomat - Matchless DC30's EF86 Channel

As I am scouting for components, I have noticed a 10uF cap for SMPS output filtering rated for 250V, which seems quite risky. I understand it is probably due to the space limit (height), but I would rather use anything rated 300V or more. Is there enough space for a 21mm capacitor in the 125B...

    A simple Relay Bypass

I made a relay bypass a few years ago with the smallest PIC (10F322) in the product line with SMDs. There is plenty of room if you want to go that way. I really like @Brett s switch mounting. That's the only thing I don't like about my design. I usually use solid wire to secure it to PCB and hot...

TUTORIAL Making a low profile magnetic stomp switch that should last forever

I was thinking about this for a while, basically trying to find the switch with the magnet. Your idea looks like the easiest option. My inspiration comes from Vahlbruch. He calls it Magtrab. It uses the same principle but instead of a reed switch, he uses a Hall sensor which has the advantage of...

    Fitting CMF55 to PedalPCB boards

Does anyone have experience with fitting CMF55/RN55 resistors on PPCB boards? CMF55 should be 0.290in (7.37mm) long at maximum. So it could fit but I would like to know your experience. It is always possible to let resistors stand on one side, but I'm not fond of it that much.

New JFET by TI - very tightly specced Vgs(off)

I have bought some Toshiba 2SK209 jfets in the past and I was amazed at how small the variance of parameters was. They have several groupings of parameters marked by colour code in the name (Green, Red, Yellow, Blue). Might be worth looking at. If I remember correctly, the Red one looked quite...
