First pass at layout for the next rev of the hardware is about done. Target was 30% reduction in PCB board area, we achieved a bit over 50% reduction. The new hardware will be about 38mm x 29mm including a 40 pin 0.8mm pitch edge connector.

Yes, there is a convenient 48KHz clock :-) for sending a 48Kbps data stream. Been very handy for debugging firmware and validating the hardware. Still not decided if we will document/support it (how useful would it be?).
