Nobelium build done. Thin sounding DI output

The only thing I can pick on is that it looks like you soldered the pots onto the PCB without mounting them in the box first, otherwise it looks like a good build. When you solder pots and switches onto the PCB it is best to mount them loosely onto the PCB, maybe bend the leads a tiny bit so...

Nobelium build done. Thin sounding DI output

Would you be able to take some pictures of the pot side of the board so we can see if there is a problem ? If you post some pictures it might be obvious to someone else what the problem is. Thanks Mick

Steddi, Go! - simple tube D.I.

I am curious if there is any progress on the drill files or the artwork for this one, I keep stalling a Tayda order so I can include the Steddi-Go box in the order. I don't care if I order the box before i get the PCB, and I have already worked out the schematic weeks ago. Hopefully the...

    Bathtub Reverb - Issues

This is how I would add a deep switch, that way I could have it original or deep tone if I wanted to. I would not mount C2 on the PCB, I would run 2 wires from the PCB holes for C2 to a DPDT switch and then mount the capacitors on the switch. It would be a lot easier to change the caps on the...

    Bathtub Reverb - Issues

The frequency range is usually determined by basic high pass and low pass filters in amplifiers, there are other filters as well like the bright caps which are like a treble pass pass filter, I am still trying to get up to speed on all this since I have only worked on industrial electronics and...

    Bathtub Reverb - Issues

You should have voltage on the left side of R12, the right side of R12 goes to pin 4 of the switch PCB which is grounded through the switch and then to ground at pin 3 of the PCB. The left side of R12 goes to the 2 right pins that go to the tube PCB, the 2 pins then go to the right side of the...

    Bathtub Reverb - Issues

Check the voltages on pin 3 and 4 of the foot switch PCB, (1 on left and 6 on right), pin 3 should go to ground and pin 4 goes to R12. R12 is the voltage drop resistor for the led, the left side goes to the LED and the right side goes to the foot switch (pin 4).

Nobelium - tube bass preamp project

I would wait for the C2CE Unagi one to come back in stock but if you must have a Jensen try here:\ EDIT: Never mind, it looks like they are sold out. https://store.generalguitargadgets.com/products/jensen-jd-db-epc-transformer?variant=32415759401044

    Bassdude output level and impedance

Great you worked it out, now I might have to make one more myself. I wonder how a Sushi Greenhouse would go between the Bassdude and the amp, it looks like an effects loop pedal that Nathan is releasing soon. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/the-sushi-box-fx-secret-society.1484792/post-28929602

    Vampire Slayer DIY PCB?

Make sure that the 4kHz is not coming from your 9V power supply. ( or 12V Supply )

    Bassdude output level and impedance

Just switch out C6 100pF out of the circuit and its a normal channel. The bright caps are a HPF that cuts out a lot of lower frequencies from the signal, you never want bright caps if you use a bass guitar. I think that putting the bright cap on a switch is the only mod I made on my Bassdude...

Steddi, Go! - simple tube D.I.

Most likely because of greedy people buying your transformers just to have in the spare parts box, I have 2 spare ones at the moment at home. :sneaky:

    Bassdude output level and impedance

I would try to use the spare triode and make it into the missing input channel on the bass dude, it should have a bright and normal channel on the inputs. Perhaps a buffered send/return could be added between the bassdude and the amp module. There is a pedal called the Paramix that is a nice...

    Bassdude output level and impedance

I didn't know you could go overkill when it came to tubes, or power, or how many pedals, guitars, amps you own. At least not as long as the boss don't find out. (and then I say it must belong to our daughter)

Steddi, Go! - simple tube D.I.

And it is now up on the C2CE shop page but stock is 0 units until Nathan is ready to go, I can feel the countdown already. I kept wondering if it was going to have a transformer and now I know it will, as soon as they are ready for sale. 10-9-8-7.......

    Bassdude output level and impedance

Maybe you just need to place a tube buffer between the preamp and the ICE module, it might be the perfect place for a C2CE Vampire Slayer.

    Build Docs Archive?

I must have missed that one, that's what you get for arriving late to the party. Archived build docs ? This makes me wonder what I might have missed out on in the past, I would love to see any old build docs as it's a way of learning more stuff for an old fart like me.

    Bassdude output level and impedance

Oh wow, now I'm gonna have to dust of my scope and check all my C2CE pedals just to see what I get, and my little tube amp worked perfect with the Bassdude. Did you place any load on the output when you tried it ?

    Bassdude output level and impedance

The Bassdude is fully bypassed and no part of the circuit affects the signal when in bypass mode, the signal enters the PCB at the top and runs on a single track to the bypass switch, and the same from the bypass switch to the output. Sometimes the power supply can affect other pedals if it is...

    Increasing B+ on Bassdude

I have some FCP20N60 in my Tayda shopping cart to try for the power supply, they have a Rds of 0.15 ohms and costs $2.29 each. I don't know where I can get any better inductors from yet that will fit onto the Sushi C2CE PCB's. I have a 1 watt amp that runs on the standard C2CE power supply with...
