    Particle Accelerator

Hmmm, it would be cool to get a little grit on the PA, but it IS a wonderful pedal. So simple yet the sound is YUUUGE. This pedal is my "Blackface Fender" sound. I run it either into a 6L6 back end (fx loop return) or into a digital amp sim 6L6 back end.

    Particle Accelerator

That's interesting, I can't get any dirt on mine. My gain knob acts as a second volume knob. I always thought this was the way it was supposed to be and use it for pure Fender clean tones as a preamp. Now I'm wondering if I did something wrong on my build.....

Phat-O-Caster mod: re-voicing Strat bridge pickup for a passive boost

Some of you may recall a few months back I converted my "Goldie" Strat into an H-S-S configuration since the bridge position was already routed for it. At the time it seemed like a good idea to have at least one of my Strats with a beefier bridge sound. And it was exactly what I expected it...

Virile Boost (Fuchs Plush Pure Gain)

Re: the Jackson Amp Mode (Modus) there's just something about the way that one is voiced that makes everything sound better. I love that it's just one knob.

Virile Boost (Fuchs Plush Pure Gain)

I like the FB2 (Obtuse) but I like Mad Beans version a little better (I've built both). It's basically a Orman boost but @bean 's version you can push to clip a little bit. Both have plenty of clean headroom and the EQ section is dandy. Having said that, the most recent ones that I've built is...

    The Betty Boost!

Just like a real amp, it takes overdrives and fuzzes just fine. I've only recently changed to this set up. The tube preamps were early Christmas presents to myself:) But I have recorded one demo with it. I'll send you a link. I'm sitting on two of his PCB's right now for when I have the...

    The Betty Boost!

My current "amp" is this (see below)....I've gone back to an amp-less rig and I've got 3 tube preamps on the analog side of things. The Friedman IR-D (which is essentially the pre-amp for the Twin Sister amp), and I'm using the SushiFX Particle Accelerator (@vigilante398) for my pure clean...

    The Betty Boost!

I just built this one myself. It's a great boost but I find I like with the tone stack bypassed. That "tight" knob is so well voiced it can add some nice "bigness" to your tone but also tighten up the bottom end when under gain to keep things tidy. Really well voiced boost. Dave Friedman has...

    Highly recommended!

    Introducing......"Blackie"

Whole package came in just around 6 1/2 lbs. making it my lightest strat of the bunch. Very resonant though. Great sustain unplugged. So at the moment, "Blackie" has a set of the "Guitar Madness Premium Alnico 5" strat pickups. "Goldie" has a Wolfetone Marshallhead A5 Humbucker and Lollar...

    Introducing......"Blackie"

Here she is hanging next to her sisters, Goldie, Blondie, Red and Burstie. (Ms. Gold Foils is back in the closet for a cycle). So the backstory is that I didn't need another Strat, heck I need to lose some guitars period. Really struggling with the lack of space here at the new house. So how...

DEMO Cast Iron Overdrive (Lollar Overdrive)

Shoot away, I'm retired, I got all kinds of time...... :ROFLMAO:

DEMO Cast Iron Overdrive (Lollar Overdrive)

Lemme know what you find. I haven't looked at the schematic for the TimbreMan since I built it. I can't really exactly what @Chuck D. Bones did to the original Timmy circuit. I have to say, it's ironic that some of my favorite overdrives are Timmy derivatives, like the Mach 1. But I really don't...

DEMO Cast Iron Overdrive (Lollar Overdrive)

It's got a lot more gain than the Timbreman. And a thicker gain I think.

DEMO Cast Iron Overdrive (Lollar Overdrive)

I suppose it's not a big secret that I'm a hard core Lollar fanboy. My favorite Strat, Tele and P90's are all Lollars. I have them in almost all of my Strats, I keep coming back to them. Jason Lollar just has a touch with certain pickups. Especially his single coils. So when I heard they were...

    P90 Madness.....

everyone needs a P90 guitar in the arsenal. I seem to have a bunch of them..... :p . But they're my favorite pickups.

    P90 Madness.....

The new Epiphone Firebirds are pretty cool.. They have the original style banjo tuners, Gibson USA pickups and some cool colors. They're pricey for an Epiphone though.

    P90 Madness.....

Hang on, there's a Filtertron project coming too....

    P90 Madness.....

I hope to be able to record both these guitars as well as the TeleBirds in the near future and share how they sound with you guys. (Through a PPCB pedal or two....:)
