So, @music6000 From the bottom up. I have continuity from R44 to gain 1 and pin 6 on IC4 I have continuity from pin 5 IC5 to bias 2. I have continuity from pin 7 on IC4 to pin 7 on IC7 and R46. I have continuity from pin 8 IC7 to bias 2 And finally I have continuity from R46 to Gain 1...

Wow that’s for that. This is exactly the sort of thing that helps. I have been following the audio schematic from the build diagram which has been really helpful too. I who’ll check out those points again today and see what I get. Thanks.

On IC3 pin 1 and 3 the audio is quieter than other points on the board and other IC’s. And Pin 2 gives a squeal. Maybe because it’s going to ground?? Thanks for the bump Neil. I need it! Going around in circles with this one. Would love to get it sorted as everyone raves about theirs. Phil

Some more info... So I did what others have suggested suggested and checked all the resistors, from R9-R15 and all are good. I managed to check R15 and R14 in place and read 33K and 16K respectively I wasn't getting correct readings from R9-R13 as im assuming, being in the circuit makes some...

All sockets showed both continuity to to the trace below where its soldered and to the component next, or before in line. Balls. Thought (hoped) that might be my saving grace.

Thanks @Feral Feline I got it figured out. I managed to send it to myself and change the pic to a jpeg! Phew. Determined to get this working!!!

What a good idea! I will go have a look at that. Save me trying to desolder it!

Thanks Chris. I have put it there too so will see what happens. It’s weird as I have changed the chip in IC4 and it’s the same. Which is why I was wondering if it could be something as simple as a short/bridge in the IC socket I used.

Right then! I checked the whole of that Delay section in the schematic. All the components are the correct values. I double checked the voltages again and got the same as the pic above. I broke out the Audio probe and went to work. I have audio at R39, Bias 1, R40, IC6 pins 3, 4 and 7. Also...

Thanks Chris. I will work on it again later today and get back to you with some more info hopefully.

I was hoping you would chime in to help! ;-) So pin 7 of IC 7 gives nothing worthwhile. Certainly not the -7.5 is asking for. Connected to pin 7 of 7 is pin 7 and 6 an 5 of IC 4 which seems to have the duff side. I get voltages down all 4 of the left of IC 4 and absolutely nothing on the right...

I will do. Just figuring out how to post pics on there as it say they are too big :-(

I tried both. The voltage readings are with both in place.

Morning all. It pains me to post this here as I took my time on this one as I knew it’s a complex built. I was hoping to beat @MichaelW to a build report but we both hit problems at the same time. He got a new board and got it working. I’m persevering with mine thought as I want to know what I...

Well done. Let us know how you get on.

Kliche overdrive volume knob. PLEASE HELP!

Definitely check R15. That was my downfall! And if it’s lower than the required 47k it means you’re slowing more signal (therefore more gain) into the op amp IC1.

Kliche overdrive volume knob. PLEASE HELP!

If I’m reading this correctly. I had the same issue. Are you saying that the increasing the gain makes it too loud? Things to double-check: Make sure both Ge diodes are facing the correct direction. Check that R15, R19, R21 & R22 are the correct values. I had the wrong value in R15. I put in a...

    Siglant Scope

Sometimes the older stuff is just better. At everything! Last time I used a scope in anger was a loooooong time ago at University so I’m sure you probably had to wind it up 🤣 and it took up most of the bench too! This one looks like it could slot into my bench easily. Which is one of the...

    Siglant Scope

Thanks Robert. Hopefully it will be sitting right in front of me. I certainly dont need a pro level one but want one that will last and cover all my needs of pedals/amps etc. I think i might have to go and have a look at it.
