Son Of Ben Q2 Bias Question - affected by gain knob?

I'm sorry, the best I can do is "I think I read once in some instructions to bias the pedal with knobs turned to certain positions, one of which might have been a drive or fuzz with the gain turned up, but I'm not sure". Hopefully someone can actually chime in with some actual knowledge.

    Even more new Tayda colors!

I love the metallic enclosures I got in my last order and will probably use them more in the future, but note to others, they are a little bit darker in real life than in pictures. Still absolutely gorgeous though.

    Genuine spring reverb build recommendations?

You don't need that much space tbh But tbh spring reverb sounds nicer to me for guitar, personally. That plate would be cool too, though. I wonder if you could put an extra table on top of it and use it as a table too so the space isn't wasted? Maybe that would kill part of the reverb though.

FWIW I suspect it's not quite that important to get exactly right anyway since it controls the compression, but you still control the amount of compression with the pot. So as long as it's somewhere in the ballpark, whether you have to turn the compression pot more or less doesn't really matter...

    Genuine spring reverb build recommendations?

I didn't even check yet, but the original creator mentioned they got all the parts from Tayda - they seem to be out of stock now, but I think I have some from a previous order, and https://www.taydaelectronics.com/photo-conductive-cell-resistor-ldr-540nm-radial.html is probably also suitable. I...

    Genuine spring reverb build recommendations?

The gerber files are on Github. I ordered mine from JLCPCB. At least I hope it did right, uploaded the .zip, it set all the settings, just changed the color and removed the order number.

That looks really cool! Thanks for linking it, I put in an order for the PCB's, will have to check what parts I need for it and figure out an enclosure. I would note that build documentation is not that thorough in my opinion, since the drill template is missing from what I can see. There's the...

    What's on the workbench?

There's the Kingtone Minifuzz 👀 Although to be honest I probably only like the looks of that one. Actually looking more at it it has a 4 position DIP switch for tone on the outside and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

    Finished Vero board insulation

Tbh with the latest one I just ran the footswitch wires over the board so they're insulated from the back. The pot wires (and components) handle them not touching anything on the front. And yes, the board is the wrong side around compared to normal, that's just how it went ok, don't judge me.

    PedalPCB 5-Loop True Bypass Switcher

125B enclosure $6-8 depending on the color, drill service $4.50, UV print + gloss combined is $6 ($5 if you order 5 enclosures at once). Bigger enclosures cost a bit more. So custom drilled and printed is around 20€ (notice currency change) with taxes and shipping (assuming I order the ~150€...

    PedalPCB 5-Loop True Bypass Switcher

I really appreciate you using Tayda, because as an European I feel like there just is no other option for me for printing and drilling services. If they stopped operating for some reason I might try looking into ordering in bulk from AmplifyFun or something like that to see if that could get the...

Is there a trick to using these led bezels?

I think the way I use them is that the LED is in the bezel when you push it in. If the bezel is in the hole already, I'm not sure if you can push the LED in at that point. I've used mostly just pre-drilled Tayda enclosures and used the mounting holes they suggest. Although tbh I think I've used...

That's a good callout too! Looks like there's a v2 of Hooke which doesn't need that very weird chip anymore, so I might consider that too. Yeah, something like that Benidub or the Anasounds Element would be really cool. AFAIK you need to impedance match the external spring tanks, but that could...

    Genuine spring reverb build recommendations?

Did you ever end up building it or something else? I'm also interested, and the Moodysounds PCB would be pretty cheap for me. The parts don't seem too bad either, apart from the 2N1613 which I would have to get from Mouser or some other store which would be a bit more expensive - but not...

Compulsive/ generated need buying from Das Musikding: was a mistake?

FWIW I would have expected it to not be soldered in, you can specifically pay PPCB to get it presoldered, but that's not the normal expectation IMO.

Compulsive/ generated need buying from Das Musikding: was a mistake?

Same here, the kits are great for more obscure stuff. I admit I haven't been measuring all of the resistors, but at the very least I haven't noticed any issues with those yet so I'm pretty sure they've all been correct.

Compulsive/ generated need buying from Das Musikding: was a mistake?

FWIW I've built I think 6 kits from Musikding, and I think the others have been flawless, one of them had a normal pot instead of a dual pot though (which I was fairly compensated for! so it was fine in the end too).

...the math checks out, even if it sounds simpler than it should be.
