Non-inverting op amp buffer with gain control

I have a feeling lowpitch wants to use an OPA205, so I wouldn't worry too much about DC offset, even with gain. I'd recommend higher values for R1 and the pot. Maybe around 1k and 10k. 220R is a pretty heavy load (at unity gain) for this application.

An Idea for a Universal Input Buffer/Booster (onboard)

Yes. To make a unity gain noninverting op-amp buffer you mostly just need a short between the output and the inverting input.

An Idea for a Universal Input Buffer/Booster (onboard)

Great catch! I didn't think anyone would ever notice. In the middle position R8 might as well be a short circuit and you'd still have unity gain, so it doesn't really matter if a cap also ends up across. The reason the cap is left connected in that particular situation is the limitations of the...

    PT-2399 Quality Question

There are many PT2399 clones by various companies. Quality has been hit and miss for me until I decided to only buy the original PTC brand from a reputable, industry-recognized component distributor. This would exclude places like AliExpress, eBay, Amazon, Tayda (not a first tier IC supplier)...

Increasing head room on the Caesar Chorus

It is crucial to DC-bias the input of the MN3207 to a point where you get the lowest distortion. Best bias point varies from chip to chip. Properly biased with a 9V supply, I can drive it with more that 500mV rms before audible distortion occurs.

    Compressor recommendations for squishy Gilmour.

dbx 163 is cheap used, and works really well with minimum fuss. VCA-based, from some of the founding fathers of VCAs. I really like dbx and their IC successor, THAT corporation. They're experts in their field.

    Latching vs non-latching Relay

I think a major reason to pick a latching relay over non-latching is to save power when power comes at a cost (battery). If power draw is not a concern, non-latching relays are probably easier to deal with.

    Latching vs non-latching Relay

A non-latching relay draws power continuously when set. A latching relay only needs a short pulse of power to get set or reset. It will then retain its current state without needing power.

    Momentary foot switch options

You could make your own out of a switch actuator and a tactile switch (easy), or an actuator, a tiny magnet stuck to it, and a reed switch (harder): https://www.banzaimusic.com/Switch-Actuator.html...

General question on op-amp output resistors

(also see post #9 above) In the Stupidly Awesome Buffer, R5's value should be chosen so that the time constant of C3-R5 is not too long (probably not more than a second). Pick too high an R5 and it would take a long time before the DC output stabilizes down to where it should be (at zero!)...

    Playing PCB Tetrix

Does anyone know what is the right way (or if there even is a proper way...) to display two boards at the same time in the 3D viewer to check for fit? (one of them plugs into the other). So far the only way I managed to do something like this is to save one board as a STEP file and load it as a...
