    Transcedence Boost parts clarification

The Transcendence Boost has two sockets for 100n caps, but one has a larger "footprint" than the other. Is there a distinction btw the two I'm unaware of? the build docs indicate the same for both.

    Transistor alignment (Modus Operandi)

Upon researching I came up with this. Can anyone verify??

    Transistor alignment (Modus Operandi)

Building a Modus Operandi and the Q2 socket (2n2222A) has a "staggered' pin placement. But the unit I got from Tayda is built like the 2n7000 in that it has in-line pins and a flat sided body. Should the flat side of the 2n2222A face "south", similar to the 2n7000?

    Ambassador - Matchless Hotbox project

Yep. Got it. I’m off to the races again! Hope to have good news to post in the near future.

    Ambassador - Matchless Hotbox project

The code on my board is "2641674A_Y623-230620". . . Jun'23? Anywho, what you posted above is what I've got. Also confirm, the GRD leg on R24 is reversed as well, the "left" eyelet now runs to GRD and the "right" eyelet ties to C14? Also, I show Bass pot P1 as running to GRD. . . WRONG. . ...

    Ambassador - Matchless Hotbox project

Re: my mod to turn the Ambassador PCB into a DC30 preamp, one point of confusion. . . the traces through the tone stack area as shown in the build doc pics don't appear to agree with the actual traces from physical inspection. I've already soldered parts in place so I can't get a good visual in...

    New project stuff maybe?

OK, so I get the 3D printed Strat body. . . . but what's the deal with the bass in the background???? Did Tayda have a sale on knobs and switches???

Yeah? . . . . we know what you been doin' down in that basement. . . .

    Ambassador - Matchless Hotbox project

Would you still go with R21 in the Ambassador schem? It's not shown in the DC30. The DC30 does not show R24 either (10K Mid resistor), but in looking at Duncan TSC both ways I can't see how deleting R24 can be right. The AC30 schems also show the 10K so I'm figuring that hand scratched schem...

    Ambassador - Matchless Hotbox project

The DC30 schematic I have shows the first gain stage running thru both sides of a 12AX7 in parallel with a common cathode resistor of 1K5, but each triode having a different BP cap (25u & .1u respectively). In the Ambassador mod each triode will have its own cathode resistor so should I be...

    Ambassador - Matchless Hotbox project

Building an Ambassador with some mods to conform more closely to a DC30 circuit. The DC30 coupling cap needs to be 560p/HV. The only thing I come across that small with the VDC rating are the silver micas as used in the Particle Accelerator tone stack. That fill the bill???

    Universal PCB

Nathan, many moons ago you mentioned developing a universal pcb that would be flexible in approaching different "flavors" of preamps. The more I've looked at the Ambassador schematic (and learned more about the Matchless, Marshall, Fender schematics) I'm struck by how similar they all approach...

    Ambassador - Matchless Hotbox project

Any way you could post a downloadable file in dwg, svg, etc. that can be imported for a dimensionally accurate drill template for the Ambassador and Particle Accelerator? I get a lot better results when I print the center points along with the graphics then drill afterwards. When I try...

Particle Accelerator - Alembic F-2B clone

In my never-ending quest to tinker with the Particle Accelerator I harken back to @vigilante398's tutorial on Tubes 101 (https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/tubes-101-intro-to-tube-preamp-design.10625/) re: the relationship btw the cathode bypass cap and coupling cap in affecting bass response...

Particle Accelerator - Alembic F-2B clone

How 'bout this? But I don't understand why?? Under normal PA wiring the signal flows across the Treble pot (jumpered in this case) to the Gain pot without any need for jumpering any Pins on the Gain pot. In looking at the Space Heater schem it appears the insertion of the 470K in the manner...

Particle Accelerator - Alembic F-2B clone

Is this OK or could you simply jumper Pin1 & Pin2 of the Treble pot, replace the C5, leave the tone stack values unpopulated and be done with it? How about the 220K resistor just preceding the Master Volume. . . in or out? With a 12AX7 this is a HOT TAMALE 🌶️. I believe you mentioned trying a...
