    On-board preamp?

I recently saw a vid where an inexpensive piezo under saddle pup was placed under a Tele bridge plate with great success. No need for those expensive replacement saddles. I was wondering if anybody has interest in adding piezo to electric guitar or bass AND IF SO, might there be interest in...

Tubes 101 - Intro to Tube Preamp Design

Space Heater varies from a Fender AB763 preamp (sans Rev & Trem) in that just before the 1M Gain pot the Space Heater replaces the standard AB763 tone stack with a network of 22n cap-->220K resistor--> a "parallel split" a) -->1M Gain pot. . . b)--> 470K to Grd. What does this network do to...

    6 Band EQ formula?

I mentioned something some time back about a "Tom Bukovac version" where the the bands were focused on the mid ranges. Anybody have any interest in that?

Tubes 101 - Intro to Tube Preamp Design

Don't mean to hijack the thread. This probably needs to go to a "Space Heater" thread.

Tubes 101 - Intro to Tube Preamp Design

BTW, would you intend the Space Heater to go before or after a preamp pedal? You put "regular" OD/Boost before, but I've seen Kingsley put his Page after the preamp. Probably works either way with slightly different results???

Tubes 101 - Intro to Tube Preamp Design

MikeyW - Probably right. Given that low E on guitfiddle is 82hz the EQ curves above would suggest that either way would work fine as the variance in the curves lies on freqs BELOW 82hz. But could you still get some "rumble" generated either by the circuit itself or extraneous noise generated...

Tubes 101 - Intro to Tube Preamp Design

Vig - I just ordered the Space Heater kit which as you know I will be using for guitar. The schematic you show above has 25u bypass cap and a 22n coupling cap. These are typical Fender values aren't they? You're Space Heater build docs show 47u & 100n respectively which (for the reasons you...

    Son of Ben switcharoo

Any value in incorporating a toggle into SOB's PCB to switch C5 in and out? Wud be kinda like the "gear shift" in the Tommy 3 and some of the other OD pedals. Might seem superfluous, but I use the SOB on the "light" end of that scale so that would make things a bit easier to dial in.

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

First things first. If you can get the 3118 flying I'm good. Having 100W @ 8 ohms would be probably be great for a small bass rig, but the 3116 @ 50W @ 8 (?) ohms would probably suffice as well.

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

Roberto - Will the PCB you're doing accommodate the 3116 or other higher powered modules? I play bass fairly often and would love something that will do for a small club.

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

I'm not an electronics guy. I just want a 125B PCB that I can assemble then plug in and go. All of this stuff looks and sounds great, but I don't have the technical chops for it. Mr. PedalPCB initially teased us with this. . . . . That's what I'm lookin' for.

    TPA3118 60W Power Amp Module

Anybody have misgivings about using these boards for serious gigs? Was it earlier on this thread or another where the TPA3118 (max 24vdc) was sporting 25V caps that burned up. Can you really get a hold of a board that has some "umph" to it? Also, Chuck Bones had a fairly thoughtful piece...

    Carl Martin Honey-Comp

Yeah, I saw the Kompromat on the MB site. I'm looking for something that would include a pretty squishy "chicken-pickin" setting and that would likely do the job. I noticed that Barber has updated the Tone Press to include toggles for Attack and Bright. Now, a clone of that would be...

    Carl Martin Honey-Comp

I don't know about the circuit design differences, but "control wise" this is functionally equivalent to the Barber Tone Press. May not have all the bells and whistles of a "full featured" compressor, but for playing live WTF!?!?!? It does what you need. Only other thing might be a Tone...

    Amp In A Box pedals

I actually have a faithful DR clone with a WGS ET65. Thought about a trying a Celestion (either Green or Cream), but all the feedback I've gotten from folks I trust say the WGS is right in that ballpark. Nothing much to be gained from a switch.

    Amp In A Box pedals

For me the Deluxe Reverb works VERY well for everything I do and makes a great pedal platform. If needed I can get a great "Marshall" sound from my Angry Andy because I don't care if it doesn't sound exactly like a Marshall. The "vibe" is there. I'd like to get that Voxy vibe and was...

    Amps and Bright caps.

Mine's actually an Allen Accomplice Jr. I bought as a kit for about what a good silverface would cost. Top quality components, no conversion costs or filter caps, etc to replace. Has MID control, RAW feature that gradually "lifts" the tone stack out of the circuit for a fatter, grittier tone...

    Amp In A Box pedals

PPCB has a several AIAB pedals. In my case I'm looking at the Acetylene & Pop Top Boost, both Vox "emulators". I'm just curious as to how a designer can accurately emulate the sound of an amp when they don't know what amp their pedal is going to be put into. The amp has its own design and...
