Hi-gain modern fuzz that isn't muddy/has clear note definition?

opamp big muff is pretty clear and defined to me vs. other big muffs. doesn't seem to blow out as hard as the others, has a tighter low end and stays relatively crispy. https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/dreamfuzz/

hey, everybody, I'm a stupid moron with an ugly face and a big butt, and my butt smells, and I like to kiss my own butt

a used 6505/6505+/6534+ will make your pants sufficiently tight and not for a lot of money if you can be patient. @Asdrael is objectively wrong 😜 those amps are fucking incredible and sadly the 6505MH sounds nothing like them, and unfortunately is very fizzy. if DIY is a must, and you wanna do...

DEMO [Vero] EQD Black Ash (Carbon Black Fuzz)

well, on EQD’s website they state ‘Black Ash is a fuzz/overdrive that takes some cues from the vintage “three-knob Bender”’ ‘three knob’ generally refers to a MkIII ToneBender. but when looking at the schematic for the black ash/carbon black fuzz, it looks a lot more like a MkII tonebender...

DEMO [Vero] EQD Black Ash (Carbon Black Fuzz)

DEMO [Vero] EQD Black Ash (Carbon Black Fuzz)

i had a vero layout for this printed and sitting in a folder for a while, but wasn’t sure when/if i was really gonna build it. so when PHB2025 got launched, i guess it was the push that got this build to happen sooner than i had planned. fortunately i had already ordered some 2N3903...

DEMO Magnetron Delay (Keeley Magnetic Echo)

yeah i was wondering if it was even worth saying anything (like how do you prove something isn’t genuine if you’re not an EE with test equipment and data to prove it etc.) but since you’ve mentioned it, i’ve dropped an email letting them know. haha it’s all yours mate, i’ll chuck it in an...

What to make with 30-50 hFE Germaniums

nah i meant if +9V is going to ground ground (as per 'vintage' schematics). my bad, i should have been clearer. tbh i quite like how you depict a 'virtual ground' for the transistors in your design/schematic. I'm not sure i've seen many schematics that ever bother to differentiate between the...

What to make with 30-50 hFE Germaniums

which part? i said 'if there is +9V going to ground...' i didn't say '+9V must go to ground' (just trying to understand where I've got it wrong) i really like this design though. never seen it done like this before. pretty nifty!

What to make with 30-50 hFE Germaniums

the jack sleeve also goes to ground. if there is +9V going to ground, and therefore also the jack sleeve, this can affect other pedals in the signal chain, as all of their jack sleeves will have continuity to the same ground (via patch cables). this is explained well here...

DEMO Magnetron Delay (Keeley Magnetic Echo)

yep. pretty much exactly what @spi said. cheers 🤙🏻 yeah it’s weird, i don’t understand why it’s that weak, when compared to the dark rift where the modulations on that are wild and awesome but very controllable. probably, i wouldn't know though. Alright, well since this build report got...

I NEED a pedal that emulates VHT/Fryette sound. Which PPCB could be?

https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/pcb001/ with a good boost in front this will probably get close. FYI - this is a very good boost/drive: https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/frostdrive/ C2CE isn't a bad idea either https://c2celectronics.com/product/black-eye-pcb-set/ (SLO)...
