I'm happy you did, because that CE-1 is absolutely amazing

    Monarch

Temol, do you happen to remember the jfets you used on this one? Would you be willing to share the layout for this one?

    Monarch

Thanks a lot, Chuck! I think I've got it (most of it, anyways)!

    Monarch

Chuck, If the answer to this is short and won't derail this thread, could you tell me why this Idss requirement matters for J201 in muamp circuits, and not for other jfets?

This Week on the Breadboard: Stereo Chorus

Thanks for sharing this one, Chuck! Everytime I've seen people use a transistor connected to the VCO in order to have small resistances work, it's been a BJT. Any particular reason you've gone for a MOSFET?

    Transistor only overdrives

You'll find a few of transistor based ODs on Chuck's Boneyard section of the forum. This one is my favorite: https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/this-week-on-the-breadboard-animals-diamond-peak-overdrive-with-some-mods-of-course.13466/

    Parts Library for Diptrace

Hello everyone! I'm evaluating alternatives to move away from Eagle and after a bit of a hard time with KiCad, I'll be trying Diptrace. Do you guys have a library that you recommend for pedal schematics/pcbs? Thanks! Edit: found szukalski's library

The Week on the Breadboard: The Emperor of Tone

Nice one, as usual, Chuck! Any particular reason for the selection of the clipping diodes?

    What's on the workbench?

Is the little black plastic thing hiding something worth hiding? Or is it just magic diodes and a few hand selected capacitors

When to use J113 to substitute J201 ?

If I remember correctly, the desolate fuzz is extra picky of the jfet used (i.e. not every in spec j201 will work). I think this has been discussed on the forum

    Median Compressor question

Following @andrewsrea nice build report (link here) of a Median Compressor, I've checked the schematic and was left a bit confused by the amount of buffers this thing seems to employ (schematic here), most notably the two built with IC1.1 and IC1.2. I can see the advantages of using a non...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Could you guys please share Vp and Idss in your 2sk208-R? I have a few 2sk118-R that I hope will fit in this circuit (I know I can find 2sk208-R to buy, but I'm not ready to deal with Mouser shipping right now 💸 😆) And if you could share the specs of a 2n5458 that works in this circuit, it...

AION Beta Lead / Bass driving a power amp

From what I understand, almost all of the sound we associate with the Sunn Beta comes from the preamp, and the power amp is there to provide clean and linear power. Your powered speakers/monitors can do that. I think you'd be fine feeding from your Sunn Beta straight to your IR loader. On a...

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Do you plan to trace it yourself to check if the schematic on FSB is correct? From youtube videos, the O2 might be my favorite

AMT Legend R2 pedal or schematic?

Do you guys know what the J177 is doing between gate and drain of the second jfet? That's one of the things I can't seem to simulate with LTspice

Son Of Ben Q2 Bias Question - affected by gain knob?

Disclaimer: it's entirely possible I'm wrong. With that out of the way, I don't think it should matter as much as you're reporting. Jfet gates need a path to ground, but that's one of the functions of legs 2 and 1 of the gain potentiometer (the other is providing a voltage divider to set the...
