What to make with 30-50 hFE Germaniums

nah i meant if +9V is going to ground ground (as per 'vintage' schematics). my bad, i should have been clearer. tbh i quite like how you depict a 'virtual ground' for the transistors in your design/schematic. I'm not sure i've seen many schematics that ever bother to differentiate between the...

What to make with 30-50 hFE Germaniums

which part? i said 'if there is +9V going to ground...' i didn't say '+9V must go to ground' (just trying to understand where I've got it wrong) i really like this design though. never seen it done like this before. pretty nifty!

What to make with 30-50 hFE Germaniums

the jack sleeve also goes to ground. if there is +9V going to ground, and therefore also the jack sleeve, this can affect other pedals in the signal chain, as all of their jack sleeves will have continuity to the same ground (via patch cables). this is explained well here...

DEMO Magnetron Delay (Keeley Magnetic Echo)

yep. pretty much exactly what @spi said. cheers 🤙🏻 yeah it’s weird, i don’t understand why it’s that weak, when compared to the dark rift where the modulations on that are wild and awesome but very controllable. probably, i wouldn't know though. Alright, well since this build report got...

I NEED a pedal that emulates VHT/Fryette sound. Which PPCB could be?

https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/pcb001/ with a good boost in front this will probably get close. FYI - this is a very good boost/drive: https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/frostdrive/ C2CE isn't a bad idea either https://c2celectronics.com/product/black-eye-pcb-set/ (SLO)...

What to make with 30-50 hFE Germaniums

time to get a breadboard. im serious, if you really want to get a quick tangible grasp on what to expect from your devices, pick a circuit, breadboard it, and see how you go. then when you find something doesn't sound (or measure) right or whatever, it's as easy pulling a resistor and plonking...

DEMO Caesar Chorus (Walrus Audio Julia) w/ Basic Relay Bypass

yep. 2.2uf mlcc per advice about them resulting in a smoother sine LFO https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/caesar-toggle-no-shape-change.12963/post-143356 https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/walrus-julia-chorus-vibe.1429/post-59962

DEMO Caesar Chorus (Walrus Audio Julia) w/ Basic Relay Bypass

have you tried testing it outside of the enclosure? (ensuring no shorts etc.) perhaps the hot glue didn't quite prevail, and has allowed a small short somewhere idk.. might be worth starting a troubleshoot thread? well focused pictures and some fresh eyes on the build are usually a good way...

DEMO Caesar Chorus (Walrus Audio Julia) w/ Basic Relay Bypass

ahh that’s a bummer, how did you insulate the backside of the relay board? switch is this one: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/spst-momentary-soft-touch-short-shaft-push-button-stomp-foots-pedal-switch.html

DEMO Caesar Chorus (Walrus Audio Julia) w/ Basic Relay Bypass

my first chorus build was a CE-2 on vero. i’ve never had an issue with how it sounds, and the soft switch relay bypass that was retrofitted made it even better. it’s been on my board for live use since it was built, but i knew eventually i was gonna have to build a caesar chorus and check it...

    Is it contest time again?

ayy now that’s what i’m talkin about 💪🏻💪🏻 well, with only x2 1M in parallel, that’s an easy 500k. close enough. tone circuit might be a bit of a PITA though haha

    Is it contest time again?

    not sure if this has been done before: a circuit design contest where all values have to be made up of either 1, 10, 100, 1K, 1M etc. e.g. allowed values: 10p, 100p, 1n, 10n, 100n, 1u, 10u, 100u 1r, 10r, 100r, 1k, 10k, 100k, 1m, 10m same goes for pots --> 1k, 10k ,100k ,1m
