(DEFX) KRUGER (Adventure Audio Dream Reaper)

Thanks ... and for once, I don't mind the size, as I can't handle 2 footswitches on a 125b, so BB suits me just fine for this one. And also thanks @Feral Feline - it's indeed crazy that the pcb doesn't cover the upper row of pots, with a random cap or two standing in the way.

Thanks! And looking forward to your super fuzz war build report. :)

(DEFX) KRUGER (Adventure Audio Dream Reaper)

Another great circuit from the masterminds at Deadend FX. It's a clone of the Adventure Audio Dream Reaper, which is ... well, it can be a lot of things or produce a wide array of different sounds. A lot of them are actually on the "not too crazy" side, I'd say, although the blurbs usually focus...

(DEFX) LOW BLOW (Katanasound Super Bass Fuzz)

I'd say the dry is full signal. I don't think the pcb is for side mounted jacks as the DEFX validation build has top mounted jacks. Lugs up/down with Lumberg jacks is only possible when using 2PDT footswitches. I'd recommend to use a BB2.

(DEFX) LOW BLOW (Katanasound Super Bass Fuzz)

This is a very cool bass fuzz, that somehow has it's own thing going on, combining "a bit of Superfuzz, with a bit of Green Ringer, providing extra spicy top end to a fuzzrocious fuzz", as Deadend says. I matched diodes (D4/D5) and transistors (Q4/Q5) and the octave on the footswitch is very...

a RAT with extras sauce and another amp-in-a-box

The LOWRIDER is a pcb from inverted cross audio, it's a RAT at heart with some additions. LEVEL, FILTER, GAIN are your usual supects ... then, CLEAN is the balance between the clean signal (processed by BODY) and the distorted signal BODY is a low pass filter applied to clean signal, SHAPE is...

Pink Goat (Fuzzhead BeeBaa) & Sumble Drive (Fuzzdog)

I boxed up two more .... Pink Goat is a based on the Roland AF-100 Bee Baa, this variation of the circuit was designed by the guy/fuzzhead from dirtboxlayouts (thanks Anders). Moonn made the PCB that I used. What's different? In the words of the man himself: "Ditched the boost switch and...

    Mofeta - cascading channels?

Wasn't that the idea with the 5 jacks? To have the possibility to go parallel ("Both in") or to go series: either brite --> normal or normal --> brite? And I don't see the mofeta offering those 3 options. But maybe I'm not getting the point ... carry on.

    Mofeta - cascading channels?

You could cascade the channels on the amp, so yeah, why not?

    DRONE MUFF

Edit: damn, @Paradox916 was quicker, but yeah, what he said. ------ It seems to be a variation of the feedback mods, mentioned by Coda (he has a great Muff write up, by the way). "This mod is also not for anyone. It will give the Muff a weird drone note that will interact with the notes played...

    DRONE MUFF

Muff? Drone? Gimmie, gimmie gimmmie!!! (No matter what time it is.) I just had to try this one. The PCB is from Inverted Cross Audio. I didn't pay attention when ordering, usually I stay a few miles away from anything SMD (= Super Mühsame Dinger) as we have a smd J201 in there (no through hole...

    Devi Multi (4xMoonn)

Thanks @Feral Feline ! And about the order: - basic: not too much thought put into that circuit wise, to be honest. I wanted the Weird Flex at the end ('cos dark boost) and thought about starting with the Ruby. But it was also along the lines of "how can I put those pcbs in there with some...

Moonn Night Destroyer - Low Volume?

I first used the transistors the BoM called for (3x MPSA18 and 2x 2N2222), that was plenty loud and very wild. I then tried a 2N2222 in Q1 and it was still very loud. I think I left the 2N2222 in Q1 and called it a day. The MPSA18's should have a hfe of around 600-700, I think. This circuit has...

Moonn Night Destroyer - Low Volume?

I've just made a thing that includes this pcb and I left Volume below noon which is a bit louder than the bypassed clean signal. For Q4 I used a metal can 2N2222 acording to the pinout indications (EBC) on the pcb. Q1-5 goes from right to left, I was a bit confused first by that order ...

    Devi Multi (4xMoonn)

On one of my orders from Moonn, I kinda randomly grabbed 4 Devi PCBs for some sort of hommage noise maker pedal. Fastforward a few months and here we are - behold the Devi4Ever brick of brutal sounds'n'noizes. We have, following the signal in "standard mode" *** : 1. Ruby, vroom-vroom baby. 2...

    Octave Fuzz For Bass

Yeah, Ocelot for octave down. I'd ditch the -2 octave though. Pair that with the Hyped Fuzz. Adding an order switch should be cool, sure, and really cool would be a series/parallel switch. I'm a bass player and have a meatbox type of thing running in parallel with an octave up fuzz - it sounds...

    Scabbard OD

I've built this using the BoM that Robert gave us. The Scabbard is a unique and versatile OD with a powerful (shelving) EQ section. There are 2 OP07 in there and the GE diodes I used (D9B) had a forward voltage of 0,3V (don't know about leakage). Sounds great on bass and guitar.

Harmonic Energizer (or Engine or Generator)

The PCB (from circuitbenders.co.uk) is actually called Harmonic Engine and it is a clone of the Harmonic Generator, a projekt by Paul Williams, published in Electronics & Music Maker Magazine back in 1981. This circuit uses the 4046 PLL chip (and a lot of others). The squarewave can be set to...

    Special Porpoise Fuzz

Well, I knew what I was getting into with this one - my guitar player has an Antichton but didn't keep it on his board .... (we did get it out for A/B ing, more or less the same, but slightly different) Fuzz and tremolo? Maybe ... but ... I mean ... uhm ... let's say, it's not another tube...
