    Sushi Box Black Eye

I get these noises as well. I believe it’s mostly to do with the charge pumps. I’ve tried everything. Usually there’s a pedal before or afterwards I can engage that’s buffered that helps quite a bit with the noise. A klon buffer has helped some.

Byzantium (BF-2), Ocelot (OC-2) and Lectric Fx's Star Chamber (MXR M-118).

800ms of delay with 2 MN3005 bbds is really pushing it. I’ve owned a few of those M118s over these years the Reticon chips. You can use the trimmer to increase delay time, as you stated, but you’ll introduce more noise and other artifacts. Those M118s were dark and murky which how I find the...

4 Tap DC Converter/Isolator Mockup Pedal - Arriving Soon!

@MattG I’ve also wondered how you could integrate those usb phone battery packs to power pedals.

    Elementary vs Particle Accelerator

@vigilante398 What’s stock preset for the “ATTE”? Assume it attenuation? My Elenentary is a good bit hotter than I expected lol. Maybe that’s why there was a 12AU7 tube in at first.

    Elementary vs Particle Accelerator

@vigilante398 Excellent job on the Elementary. I immediately took the 12AU7 out because I wanted to hear how it was intended. Great as a boost or an od/distortion but still, as with the PA, I like to keep the gain relatively low and run dirt pedals into it for slightly dirty tube boost...

This Week on the Breadboard: MOSFET Driver Redux

I was under the impression that the Cattle Driver and MOSFET Driver were two completely different takes on the butler td and that Jon Patton did the original MOSFET Driver. Man I feel like a dumb***Mustve crossed my wires somewhere. My apologies for being stupid.

Any chance for a Boneyard Cattle Driver in the future?

    Particle Accelerator lack of Bass

I can’t really push my over 9 o’clock. I would double check the components for an incorrect value.

Bathtub Reverb - tube-driven digital reverb

Cool info I only tried the liquid blues and I thought it ripped. Cant remember how much power it took but it had a huge external transformer. That “Glass Nexus” and original “Timeline” would be great to try. Honestly wish the re-release some of these in smaller form factor. Looks like Warm...

Bathtub Reverb - tube-driven digital reverb

@vigilante398 hope you didn’t take my comment the wrong way. I understand this takes time and that you have to pick the best for cost and time constraints etc..I appreciate what all you do. I’m by no means advanced enough to do that. I’ll stick with what I have or get one of the UAs or a...

Bathtub Reverb - tube-driven digital reverb

Dang I hate to hear that. I’ve always wanted a tube comp not sure why. I didn’t know I was based on that circuit. I used the LA2A comp alot to beef up the final mix before having mastered. A lot on vocals as well. I’m very tempted to get one of the UA LA2A or 1176 comps. g

Bathtub Reverb - tube-driven digital reverb

Would you be able to tell it’s tube driven seeing that it’s a chip? Is it buffered? My effects loop isn’t buffered and has digital reverb in parallel with loop. Supposedly. Bad Cat Cub 40r. If buffered and sounding like real spring I could use it. Otherwise I was planning on sticking a vampire...

    (Actual) 3-Channel ParaMix

I have a signal blender to compare this too. Can also take some pics if wanted/needed when it arrives.

Benefit of a TRRS output on a blend pedal

Stumbled upon an affordable problem to my solution. If made well, if needed I could use one for each amp and still have some change left over. I take a peak when it gets here.

    (Actual) 3-Channel ParaMix

Check this out. Looks like a wallet friendly Signal Blender clone with series or parallel routing. Since there’s a 12$ off coupon I ordered one. I’ll confirm if it behaves/sounds/or rather doesn’t make a sound when it comes in. Actually doesn’t look that bad. Might be a minute before it gets...

Benefit of a TRRS output on a blend pedal

Good catch! You got me on the timing for the Doppolas, Dynachord and CE2. He used a CE2 often at the very end of the chain into one amp only. Set very low in the mix. You really barely notice all this on the official Pulse mix but it’s pretty wild on some other unofficial recordings. To be...

Benefit of a TRRS output on a blend pedal

Man you got me wondering now. I’ll have to double check that. There’s for sure a Doppolas type effect where you can mix in the intensity and it’ll rotate drum and tweeter from one amp to the other. I’m sure I’d be fine with it as a mono signal. I would like dedicated time delay for each amp but...

Your favorite sushi box fx pedal to date?

Just an update on the PA tube swaps. First I put in a 12at7. The sound was clear and boosted. Tone controls had more range-but, I believe I might’ve put a bad 12at7 in there. Something was off about it. I could hiss with the gain turned all the way down but as raise it the hiss would go away...
