Please recommend a black 3PDT + dress nut (that fits)

Which one is the arcade button one? Does that include both dress nuts at LMS?

Passive AB with 2 LEDs (or a bicolor) - how do YOU wire them?

Unless its an momentary switch I always use 3PDT stomp switches for things like this - I like the consistency of the clicking action between builds and I always have them on hand. Your diagram is right, but it’s one less (rather bulky) part to have to keep on hand.

The correct orientation for the keyway slot in a 3PDT is...

Literally never thought about it until this thread. A survey of the 6 pedals I have at work are an even split. I’ll never care enough one way or the other but I like @JTEX’s rationale. I could also entertain the argument that up would be less likely to allow shoe gunk into the enclosure from...

How do you install your footswitches ? What to do with the various rings ?

M6 for toggles, M7 (very uncommon size, LMS sells some) for pots

    EOL parts thread

There are also smd sockets that are usually used for programming smd ICs that can be used to breadboard many semiconductor packages, including JFET favorite SOT-23. The sot-23 sockets I’ve seen are are 6 pin (technically for the sot-23-6 package) but you can just ignore the unused pins. Edit...

    EOL parts thread

There are also non-original producers of industry standard ICs. Just as a quick example, J/NRC, HGSemi, UTC, and STM all produce TL072s. Obviously it is still good to be keeping an eye on EOL stuff

What do you all usually buy from Digikey?

I agree with @jwin615 about higher end op-amps. Most of what I used to buy from Digikey and Mouser I buy from LCSC now but I used to buy relays, microcontrollers and odd value or package electrolytic capacitors from Digikey. Sometimes their prices on charge pumps are reasonable, if not the...

How do you straighten component leads?

Finally found it: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5446312 It was hard for me to grasp the scale of it when looking at the preview, it's about 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch

This Week on the Breadboard: Phase 90

Ooph and I was hoping you hadn’t hidden the ground ratlines. That’s a doozie

How do you straighten component leads?

There’s some nice toggle dress nut drivers on the forum - I’m on my phone or I’d try to dig them up for ya. There’s a to-92 lead spreader that I use a lot - that I also can’t find, LCSC gave me a warning about the hole sizes and I had to approve it over email. They are kind of bumped into...

How do you straighten component leads?

@Fizz LCSC’s on demand 3d printing is how I print everything. Cheapest option I’ve ever seen. That lead straightener will probably be under $3. I’ve probably printed enough stuff to cover the cost of an entry level 3d printer but I don’t have the space for one currently. Edit: sorry, JLCPCB...

How do you straighten component leads?

I use ceramic tweezers, if the lead is wild jacked up, I’ll use this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5501501

    Build A Pot Removal Tool

RE: the pace tip, apologies for sidejacking the thread: I had two of these show up today, unfortunately both (1403, 1404) are too big to not damage surrounding components - I should have measured better, BUT testing it on some of my own boards destined for the proverbial trash heap, pots came...

    Fancy Solder Sucker

You can find the same knock off ones for ~$7 on AliExpress for what it's worth. No complaints with mine. The silicone tubing definitely makes it easier to use.

    HM-3 Hyper metal?

Where did you see that Jager uses one? Apologies if its in the music video, I’m too busy getting ready to leave this morning to watch it. Every pedalboard shot I’ve seen from him lately shows a hyper fuzz variant into an hm-2 variant. I fucking love Monolord, they’re what got me into fuzz...

    Kliche Mini SE

Metallic Light Gold Just to clarify, I used hot glue. No clue if super glue would be sage to use here. But yeah this is a really fun layout. Rob really did something special with it and that comes through when building it :)

Measured odd and common diodes IV curves

The D9B is the Russian germanium, yep. I'm unsure of the manufacturer of the 1N60 and 1N34A but I believe all three of these germanium diodes were purchased from stompboxparts (I know for certain the 1N60 and 1N34A were). And no problem! Happy to see someone is compiling all of this!!
