I can’t tell where you got it from, but I’m pretty sure the TS10 doesn’t have the option to choose LEDs as clippers 😂. I have an original TS10 on hand, I’ll check the schematics for you

It’s a real shame, but I really wanted to use the original layout! And until recently I didn’t know that either hahaha, a fellow Brazilian got 2 still sealed packages of 1000 of those diodes, I think the brand is Intl!

Went full mojo on this: carbon comp resistors, tropical fish capacitors (and a MKT, which was the line that replaced Tropical Fish), 70s German made 1N4148, epoxy dot ME4003 and a repro enclosure from our own @mwpedalparts-maggie. Sounds amazing!

Thank you man! In the past I have made some without the transformer (and also Dylan’s Narrowcaster) and I can agree that the transformer has a neglectible influence on sound, but the customer asked for a full clone, so a full clone it is 👌😂

Built this one for Brazilian guitarist Sergio Buss, who played guitar with Steve Vai for years! Figured out the layout using some pictures from the web, but had to debug the pedal for hours, until I found out the 2 central pins of the transformers should be isolated from the rest of the circuit...

Other thing to consider (that goes somewhat along the modular stuff): use offboard wiring for the 3pdt and jacks, if you go all onboard your PCB will eventually fail on the points of most mechanical stress. Using offboard wiring for these parts leaves the mechanical stress just for the part...

Don’t use sockets man, the opamps/transistors WILL eventually get loose. I’ve been building pedals professionally for more than 15 years and I worked for a long time with repairs and I have seen this happen a lot.

about the hate towards ground pads… some metal alloys are tricky to solder, but if you scratch the surface with sand paper, clean it (it’s REALLY important to make it clean) and apply some solder flux and use a higher temperature on your soldering iron should make for an easier and a better...

Here is a Foxey Fuzz I just finished. It’s essentially a Sun Face with 220pf cap from input to ground (under the board) and a pair of Mullard GET872. Sounds really good, the transistors have almost no leakage and the hFEs are 69-90
