I’m pretty sure I did this for one of Chuck’s contests a few years ago. Every component I used had the number 1 in it. It wasn’t a requirement, but I thought I would give myself a challenge.

Another contest idea. Anybody want to have a "best riff" contest? It's gotta be from your own noodling and not somebody else's riff. Phone clips are allowed. Like, "best riff" through a Rat, Clean through a delay, etc. Those categories

Get a good amp that has the dirt characteristic you like. You won't need 90%+ of the pedals you make.

Im assuming that GPCB Roto-Tone board is a mod board. I have one of those and they definitely come in handy even while using a breadboard. I can keep playing and turn the rotary switch to instantly hear the different in components.

I have not. Got a schematic? A Muff is a Muff, IMO, regardless of the component values chosen. Or I just don't know how to use it other than a maxxed out sustain knob.

Your best bet is to research the "classics" under the hood and be able to discern the different topologies. A muff looks VERY different than a rat or tubescreamer on a schematic. Then start branching out from there. You biggest hurdle, IMO, will be fuzz territory unless you do your homework on...
