Terrarium Rev 1 with Daisy Seed v1.2 rev 7 Noise Issue Work Around - Applies to OLD Terrarium REV 1 board only!

Oh no! So what I’ve been doing, and this is not a perfect solution, but I rip out the U2 capacitor and carefully clean out the solder holes if you can, and put some wires in there, connect that to a little board that has the replacement U2 cap, and the low pass filter containing the extra cap...

    Paludarium Platform Development

I’m working on a new stereo Daisy Seed based pcb, through hole, mainly to have a convenient platform for my own DSP development. I’m including some things for noise reduction, so I’ll share my results on the forum and maybe give some confidence either way on how to proceed on a new daisy seed...

Terrarium Rev 1 with Daisy Seed v1.2 rev 7 Noise Issue Work Around - Applies to OLD Terrarium REV 1 board only!

Thanks for sharing the info, yeah it’s very strange, some people get it and some don’t. For sure let us know if the filter works for you! I’ve posted on the Electrosmith forums and discord but haven’t heard an official response from them on what’s going on, just relying on user data.

SOLVED: Help! Terrarium build, cannot compile from plugdata to seed

If you can share the code you're running I can help troubleshoot, or is it one of the Daisy examples?

SOLVED: Help! Terrarium build, cannot compile from plugdata to seed

You don’t need to power the terrarium for your computer to recognize the daisy seed, just the usb to the daisy seed. Does your daisy seed light up when you plug it in? Electrosmith has a forum and a discord that might be able to assist as well. I’m assuming you followed the Zadig steps listed...

Terrarium Rev 1 with Daisy Seed v1.2 rev 7 Noise Issue Work Around - Applies to OLD Terrarium REV 1 board only!

Interesting! Thats why I want more data, and you’re using a per build docs Terrarium? Using a TL072 output buffer To clarify, if I connect directly to the Daisy Seed audio output pin (line level) it sounds fine, no noise. It's only when I use it with the Terrarium's output buffer circuit. The...

Failed Terrarium/Daisy build - need help!

Do you have electrical tape or something to keep the lower 3 pots from shorting out the pcb on the backside? I’ve had two daisys mysteriously die on me fairly recently, probably user error, but never figured out what happened.

Right, so my Daisy Seed doesn't output any sound. More info inside.

@kylewetton can you share some pictures of your pedal? I’ve fried a daisy seed by accident before with similar results, I think in my case it was actually static discharge that did it. There were little bubbles on the ICs on the daisy seed, that eventually gave off a little smoke. Also what...

Terrarium Rev 1 with Daisy Seed v1.2 rev 7 Noise Issue Work Around - Applies to OLD Terrarium REV 1 board only!

This fixed it, low pass filter right after the audio output of the daisy seed. Used 3.3k resistor and 2.2nF cap for a 22kHz low pass, as shown in the diagram. @Robert I recommend (after verifying with your own test) a revision to the Terrarium to include this LP filter for use with the Daisy...

Terrarium Rev 1 with Daisy Seed v1.2 rev 7 Noise Issue Work Around - Applies to OLD Terrarium REV 1 board only!

Hardware, I believe they had to use a different audio codec because the old one became unavailable. I got a tip to try adding a low pass filter to the output of the daisy seed, prior to the output buffer, so I’ll see if that helps and report back.

Terrarium Rev 1 with Daisy Seed v1.2 rev 7 Noise Issue Work Around - Applies to OLD Terrarium REV 1 board only!

Hey all, I was curious if anyone has built a Terrarium recently with the latest Daisy Seed v1.2 rev 7, I am getting horrible noise with it. I used a previous version of the Daisy Seed with the same Terrarium and it worked fine. Here is an electrosmith forum tracking the issue, along with sound...

DEMO Seed - Neural Net Multi Effect built with Terrarium / Daisy Seed (Tayda UV print)

Good questions! I measured the latency on the Seed at one point, I think it was around 3ms. To run NAM on the Daisy Seed (or H7 microcontroller device) it would take some doing, and likely the standard models would be much too slow on it. I tried adapting the NAM code for Daisy to see what...

    Eagle vs Kicad

Started using KiCad last year, first and really only experience with PCB software so I can't speak to the others, but seems to do everything I need for two layer guitar pedal pcbs. Some of the features were not very intuitive for me, so I recommend going through a tutorial series on youtube.

lol yeah, looks like you can even just drag the origin around where you want it. I guess this is just for people that need more spreadsheets in their life!

1590BB Simple Spreadsheet for converting Tayda Drill Template to Adobe Illustrator XY coordinates

I wanted to share this in case anyone else finds it useful. I had an existing Tayda Drill template that I wanted to add UV print artwork to using Adobe Illustrator. In order to make an accurate layout of the controls I needed to convert the xy coordinates from the center origin (Tayda) to a...

DEMO Seed - Neural Net Multi Effect built with Terrarium / Daisy Seed (Tayda UV print)

Thanks! No I don't mind, you're the first person to ask about it, to switch to the alternate 4 models do this: 1. Turn Level control all the way down 2. Flip the left model select switch (Terrarium switch 1) four times from it's current position (up/down/up/down, or down/up/down/up) 3. Do the...

    interesting daisy project on github

Here’s a video I made about this pedal and some effects for it, you can get any of the effects from the video in this release: https://github.com/GuitarML/DaisySeedProjects/releases/tag/v1.1 The code is also open source in the various branches of that project, if you wanted to adapt it to...

Possible solution to reduce the noise of the terrarium build

Just to add to this, I bet a re-amp box would do the trick if you put it between the line output of the daisy and an amp.
