    Went scavaging

Butchered a broken Randall amplifier, a Marshall jackhammer and an old record player today. Any of these useful? Transistors c1737 c2240 bf494 bc559b bc549c bc5488 a970 c1815 a1015 diodes oa95 (might be ga95) aa119 bzx79b Also found quite a few 1n4148, tl072 and some zener diodes. Did I find...

    To-05 socket?

Where do people get sockets for to-05 germanium transistors?

    Tone Vendor mkII :/

Nah it didn’t help. I’ll try a higher value resistor later. Actually the cleanup is horrible, but I imagined that just had to do with the high hfe of q1 and q2. I don’t know for sure, but according to musikding they’re between 90 and 99. Last time I looked into measuring hfe I fried the...

    Mach 1 working intermittently

Measure voltage on leg 8 of the IC to make sure it gets the necessary juice.

    Mach 1 working intermittently

Probably not, but start with those solderjoints on your volumepot. They don’t look good. Also doublecheck that all your resistors have the correct value. This could be helpful: https://www.electroschematics.com/resistor-color-codes/

    Mach 1 working intermittently

Hey dude! could you take another picture more close up? And a picture of the board? Does it work fine in bypass? First thing I’d do is a reflow on the solderjoints. Got really frustrated with a pedal that would die after 15min connected to power. In the end it was just a joint that needed a...

    Tone Vendor mkII :/

Hey man! Thanx for replying. Your post got me thinking so I did a few measurements. It’s built with the pedalpcb-board so it uses a Tc1044 ic to change the dc from positive to negative and I’ve tested the pedal with a standard boss psa adapter. The output from the ic says 9.17v and the...

    Awesome! Glad I could help.

    Paragon Inconsistent Sound

Sounds a bit similar to an issue I had on a build(brown betty) at least the part where disconnecting the power and reconnecting brings it back. In the end after alot of headscratching it was a joint that needed a reflow even though it looked fine to me.

    General Tso LED

Took them out and double-checked the polarity. They don’t light up when I play guitar, but if I take the jack out of the pedal and touch the tip with my finger they both light up with full power. I did use 8mm instead of 5mm(had some laying around). jtran3000: Are you struggling with the...

    Tone Vendor mkII :/

A few days often help in troubleshoots. Tried this one again today. That high pitch disappears when I bring the volume and attack control down to about 75-80%. I wonder it that means it’s just how does trannies are, escpecially since they are a bit higher gain than people usually use in this...

    General Tso LED

Yeah thought they were gonna light up when playing, but since the pedal does compress the sound quite nicely(although maybe not as intended) I didn’t think too much about it. But I’m not gonna take over someone elses thread. I’m currently trying to figure out a tone vendor so I’ll spend some...

    General Tso LED

Someone might correct me, but I don’t think they’re suppose to. Just this pedal and it sounds great, no light in the leds. If I’m wong I hope someone can tell us both what we’re doing wrong.

    Tone Vendor mkII :/

Okay I did that and something did happen. The sinus is still there, but it does get affected by the attack-pot now. It has also changed character from being a constant drone to sounding more like a fly buzzing around in a window.

    Tone Vendor mkII :/

Yeah I read through your thread, but unfortunately it didn’t help. The issue with the attack sounds kinda similar to the issues you had, but all my electrolytics are the right way and I’ve used all the right resistors. Suppose it might be a component malfunctioning.. which will be a b****h to go...

I tried hooking it up to a battery instead, but it didn’t help..

    Tone Vendor mkII :/

Nice and clean. transistors are ac125 with the same pinout as the oc81d in the build doc so they are the right way. Charge pump is the tc1044scpa stated in the build doc, bought from musikding, not randomly on ebay. The empty joints are just the led. It fell out after being bent over and over...

    Tone Vendor mkII :/

Hey my dudes! I’m having issues with a Tone Vendor mkII which goes like this: 1) When engaged it makes fuzz, but there’s a high pitched sinustone. The tone is loud, but is only controlled by the volume control on the pedal. The volume on my guitar does not affect the volume of the sinus. 2)...
