DEMO Cast Iron Overdrive (Lollar Overdrive)

For sure it sounds like it's got some sag, it's a very amp like pedal. On paper it's just a Timmy with a mid control, but the pedal is more than the sum of it's parts. It's one of the more "amp like" or "tube like" pedals I've built. It's not a "use it on anything" kind of overdrive. But for...

    DEMO The "Anti-Buffer" pedal

I ordered some from Mouser, but you can probably get them cheaper from AliExpress or eBay. https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Xicon/42TM019-RC?qs=LQJGOuQCHKQk%2FaBX9yNCGw%3D%3D&countryCode=US¤cyCode=USD But since this mod only uses one side of the transformer, anything with a 10k primary...

Phat-O-Caster mod: re-voicing Strat bridge pickup for a passive boost

Interesting, I saw that video but didn't watch it yet, I'm going to have to take a look at that. I'm usually always struggling with getting enough clarity on a neck hum bucker without going too low in the winds. I may have to try that!

Phat-O-Caster mod: re-voicing Strat bridge pickup for a passive boost

I've only tried their Vintage Class pickups but I sent some out in the BBOP last year and @Guardians of the analog is using the Texas Spirit set I think and he likes them. But I like the BootStrap pickups more (well, I have more experience with them). Plus they're cheaper.

Phat-O-Caster mod: re-voicing Strat bridge pickup for a passive boost

Man, I did a lot of Dan Torre's mods on my guitar back in the olden days before the interwebz and he sent out a little paper catalog hahah. I did the mid-scoop but not the boost. Dan Torres also did modded my amp. I had a Peavy Bravo tube amp, it had a ton of gain but was kinda harsh. His mod's...

Anyone who built the Wrecking Ball from C2C Electronics ?

I'd be all over that in an instant! @vigilante398 have you looked at any of the Tubesteader pedals? I have their "Beekeeper" a 2 channel Dumble-style pre-amp. It's excellent and tonally compares very well to my Dumble clone's pre-amp. Their Lightkeeper pedal is just the clean channel but has a...

DEMO Eschaton Preamp (Catlinbread Epoch Bias)

Blue Green colorblind as a bat So I really can't trust anything I see that's green.

DEMO Eschaton Preamp (Catlinbread Epoch Bias)

Is that the Cthulu...err... I mean Tchula? The enclosure is actually Tayda's Mint Green but it shows up blue in the pics. Same problem with my Seafoam Green Tele, the pics always make it look blue.

That means a lot coming from you man, you have the most beautiful builds. Mine are "utilitarian" hahaha

DEMO Eschaton Preamp (Catlinbread Epoch Bias)

Definitely the Clandestine is the best of the bunch. Maybe it's the circuit, or maybe it's the mojo parts I used in my builds....;).

    DEMO The "Anti-Buffer" pedal

Oooh, yah, that's definitely it. Maybe where McPherson got the idea in the first place. Although he's got a number of different projects using the 42TM019. The AMZ article definitely gives me some ideas to try next. Thanks!

DEMO BlackHat Boojum Boss HF-2B Flanger + Animal Diamond Peak OD

This is a two-for build post and demo. Both of these builds were inspired by the generosity and kindness of a couple of forum members. First Clinton (@blackhatboojum) sent me one of his Boss HF-2B Flanger boards. (At the suggestion of @Guardians of the analog :) This is a FANTASTIC flanger...

    DEMO The "Anti-Buffer" pedal

The transformer is acting as a dummy coil. And costs like $1-3. Using a pickup would be reducing it to a dummy coil and costs....I dunno, $15-18 for a cheap eBay pickup?

DEMO Eschaton Preamp (Catlinbread Epoch Bias)

Some of you may recall my obsession (as some would call it) with the EP3 Preamp pedals. I've built two Clandestine Preamps (Chase Tone Secret Preamp) And use both of them in my pedal chain, I've also built the AionFx Ares (based on the ClinchFX EP3) which I use in my second amp's efx loop chain...

    DEMO The "Anti-Buffer" pedal

Last week I posted a pretty cool pickup mod for a Strat, the Phat-O-Caster Mod. I got this mod from Waylon McPherson Guitars from New Zealand. He's got a Youtube channel with lots of pedal, guitar and amp mods. Check it out! This build report is for another one of his projects that sounded...

    What's on the workbench?

I have the DP525 head. I have JCM800 mod on the "Marshall" channel. I previously had the "Lil Jessie". Great amps.

    Derailer Overdrive

Did you use the stock B10k for the gain pot? I had a hard time using mine because it was so in your face gainy. I put in an A10k and it made all the difference. It spreads the gain out over a wider range of the rotation and gives you access to some of the lower gain sounds.

Yet another Shallow Water (PPCB Low Tide)
