    Orange Squeezer

I'm pretty certain the album is not my brazilian favorite, but I can see an argument for it being the goat

    Orange Squeezer

I still have to figure out how much detail I can manage with this kind of technique, but I like the results. And the process itself is very fun, mixing different inks, carving the linoleum. Feels like the ultimate diy experience

    Orange Squeezer

Thanks! I'm happy with it! Just wished the labels were a bit more clear. My linoleum has two textures: one side is smoother than the other, and I did the artwork on the rougher one

    Orange Squeezer

Enclosure is bought (I lack the tools and the ability  ), I just did the artwork

    Orange Squeezer

Built myself an orange squeezer with a threshold control as implemented in the Orange Smoothie. Nothing much to write about this one, but it does the job and is quite silent for a compressor. Will probably go to the pedalboard. Did some linocut for the artwork, but used the rough side of the...

    Triple Pedal Build #2

Nice job!! Have you had any noise issues running the 3 charge pumps from the same power inlet?

Engineer Thumb: is it normal behavior?

That's good to know! I can definitely hear compression (the engineer thumb has more compression available than I find useful, actually), but this behavior was throwing me off. It should get a little better noise wise when I box it up

Engineer Thumb: is it normal behavior?

Hello everyone! I've built an engineers thumb according to ValveWizard's schematic (schematic here) and it compresses as it should. However, depending on the settings (mostly higher ratio and lower threshold combined) I get this weird artifact where it feels like the volume (and the noise) is...

Can I use 2N5458 jfets instead of the J201 for a Chop Shop?

Temol, what kind of input signal are you using for this transient analysis?

Can I use 2N5458 jfets instead of the J201 for a Chop Shop?

The jfet stages on the chop shop will probably work with a 5458 fet, but they're most likely not gonna sound the same as the original. Your safest bet is to use sockets, if you like the way the pedal sounds with the 5458s, that's all good. If not, it is simple to change fets down the road

    Eagle -> KiCad footprint equivalents

You can import your eagle libraries into kicad (which is what I have been doing so far, and it seems to work just fine) but that's probably not the answer you want

    Rockerverb inspired fet-preamp

A few months back I've breadboarded a fet-conversion of the preamp of the Rockerverb. @temol has helped me a lot and in the end we've arrived at what is, in my opinion, a great sounding circuit. I won't claim it's an Orange in a box or anything like that, but it sounds good, which is more than...

    C-mos Preamp: a Sunn Beta inspired drive/preamp

It makes me glad to be able to introduce you Cartola, he is one of the brazilian greats!

    C-mos Preamp: a Sunn Beta inspired drive/preamp

Have band practice tomorrow, will see if I can record it! No, this one was bought from someone (I believe it's a little company) who makes folded aluminum enclosures the size of Hammond's (this one is a 1590xx)

    C-mos Preamp: a Sunn Beta inspired drive/preamp

A few weeks ago I've decided to breadboard a drive/preamp taking inspiration from the Sunn Beta. It's the drive section of the Beta, with the second half of the gain pot hardwired at max, converted to single 9V operation, followed by a baxandall stage. Today I've finished boxing it up. I love...

    Surfy Industries Modulation pedals

I have played with the drain resistor so that there's a small amount of boost available - it doesn't get loud, but goes a little beyond unity, which is enough for me

    Surfy Industries Modulation pedals

I'm working a layout for it and my plan is precisely to include volume as an external control (it is wired as a trimpot, originally) and make it true bypass.

J201 substitute? Oh no, not again...

Thanks a lot, Temol! That's a nice explanation!
