Maxon OD808x (ESM) - I like the tone but it's a lot of gain

The product description says this: https://maxonfx.com/products/maxon-compact-series-guitar-effects-pedals-overdrive-extreme-od808x - Extended frequency response improves note definition and clarity - Increased Output (+5 dB over OD808) for extra Volume Boost - Harder clipping yields more...

Maxon OD808x (ESM) - I like the tone but it's a lot of gain

Im not sure where any extra gain would be coming from over a normal TS. All the caps you point out are part of low pass filters in the tone section so I don't think that is contributing. Like you said the gain stage is the same.

4PDT stereo bypass, with LED (SOLVED: Found PCB)

You could also look into using one of the analog switches in the CD4000 series ICs. I think you could control a CD4053 with one of the poles of a 3PDT to get a 5PDT. http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/cd4053/cd4053.htm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_4000-series_integrated_circuits

Anyone has a solution for changing faceplate text seamlessly?

Yes, mostly VFE but there some others. I did a build report over here: https://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=32259.msg309994#msg309994 It's a work (still) in progress...

    Just curious: 125B vs 1590B?

It depends on your board configuration. 2 rows of 125B, or 3 rows of 1590B

    Just curious: 125B vs 1590B?

I prefer 1590B. - 125b is too tall. With my heal on the ground the shorter one is easier to click. - my foot with no shoes is more than 100mm wide, just my big toe is 36mm. With shoe on it's more like 120-125mm. The pitch between 2 single switch 125b with top jacks is about 65-70mm. The pitch...

    Just curious: 125B vs 1590B?

There are also the 1590B2, 1590BS, and 1590B3 that are taller versions of the regular B but not quite as big as the 125b. I just wish more places carried them especially the 2. https://www.amplifiedparts.com/products/chassis-box-hammond-1590b2-diecast-443-x-238-x-132
