Just to resurrect an old thread: There is already a filter - its the c4 with 47p. Recently i got some nice GE transistors and sub them for the 2N222A. Brings in the GE flavor and rolls off some nasty frequencies.

I did a search with 'russian germanium' just brought up only 3, but no further recommendation or data. With the exception of the mp38a by Chuck. I also googled some spec sheets, but they were only in russian. Thank you anyway. Your list helps a lot.

As far as i know all used parts must lead free (or allready RoHS certified). My Schatten pickup winder was made with leadfree solder but some of the parts were not certified, so it was not RoHS, so i was told.

AI is not good in creating something really creative or doing things that is not following regularities, but it can surely recognize patterns and convert them. I mean if it knows the color bands of resistors it can express the value in numbers and put it into a schematic. It would be time saver...
