    Parentheses Mini GE Diode question

There’s really no ‘value’ in diodes. The parameter that’s measured, usually, is forward voltage, or Vf. That’s just the amount of voltage tit takes for the diode to turn on and conduct, if I’m not mistaken. But, I wouldn’t worry about all that until a build calls for a certain range. Any GE, or...

    Voltage divider question

Prolly a stupid question, but I gotta ask! Is it different than in a guitar volume pot? Where a larger value volume pot let’s more highs thru? I.e. Fender uses 250k to quell some of the highs, and Gibson, at least on the reissues, uses 500k pots to let more highs thru to get rid of the ‘wooly’...

    Solder Fume Extractor?

Probably! But, I do notice a difference in smell from leaded to non-leaded. Maybe different flux, idk.

    Solder Fume Extractor?

Soldering extractor fan??? That takes all the fun out of it, and ya don’t get to enjoy that sweet, sweet smell of molten leaded solder!!! All kidding aside, I do like the smell of leaded solder. It takes me back to my youth when my dad would be soldering something, and I could smell it. That may...

Kliche mini choking out bypassed signal

Somethings fishy if the Archer is doing it too. That means it’s something that the archer has that the kliche OD DOESNT have. Now, finding that is the problem. It’s all the same circuit (well, I think the archer has stuck to the original circuit!) what does the Kliche OD have that the rest...

How do you desolder the dpdt toggle switch without burning up the board

YEP!!! My first build, I bought two Refractor boards from Aionfx, which are their Klon Klone. Luckily, my dad helped me with them, so they both eventually worked, BUT I should’ve definitely picked a simpler circuit. Less to go wrong, better chance of getting it up and running with the least...

How do you desolder the dpdt toggle switch without burning up the board

Just for the record, it was Music6000 that noticed the op amps. I didn’t notice that until I read his post.lol I agree with everything Feral Feline said, also!

How do you desolder the dpdt toggle switch without burning up the board

For that exposed trace under the electro, you could take some stripped insulation from the wire you use, and put it on the leads of the cap, to raise the cap a little bit so it doesn’t touch. I wouldn’t be too worried about the trace.

How do you desolder the dpdt toggle switch without burning up the board

Dude, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you’re gonna have A LOT of desoldering to do. Those op amps are flipped, and you soldered them in. You really need to get some sockets for the op amps!! If i was you, I’d order a new board, seeing as it’s your first build. You’re gonna be chasing...

SOLVED Tyrian Distortion - Sound but no LED - Burnt Out Contacts?

Congrats on getting the pedal working!!! The only thing is that 470 ohm resistor may burn up your LED. The ‘normal’ value for an LED resistor is 4.7k ohms. The color bands should be yellow, purple, brown, gold if it’s a 4 band resistor, or yellow, purple, black, brown, brown, if it’s a five band...
