    Muffin Fuzz (bigger muff build)

I thought that nu metal bigger muff operated off some high voltage transformer like an actual guitar amp.

    Muffin Fuzz (bigger muff build)

The glow in the dark is cool, but even cooler with the ghostbuster ghost on it.

    Blue Breaker, first 2024 build

I forgot to add that I'm probably going to take the 100k resistor off the drive lugs. If you max out the drive knob theres zero resistance in parallel with the 100k resistor so all of a sudden the gain in the second stage drops. There really needs to be an extra 10 ohm or other small value...

    Blue Breaker, first 2024 build

I've had this blues breaker pcb sitting around for a while and forgot about it. Found it in my stash last night and decided to finish building it out. I made a couple minor mods to the circuit when I built it. When I was done I realized I was missing the nut for the outie DC jack. I have some...

    wire preference..

It's been so long I'm not sure. I think I tried tinning it first and it wouldn't fit through the hole. Like I said, the wire gauge may have been too thick for the holes in the first place. I do remember trying it without tinning and it resulted in weird random strands getting squished back out...

    wire preference..

I used to use 22awg solid core Tayda stuff. I'd order it ten or twenty feet at a time and it would last for a while because I wasn't building tons of pedals. Michael Wong hipped me to this solid core wire with thick insulation and I like it quite a bit...

Kliche Ala Chuck D Bones Bass Mod

Nice! What are those crazy looking diodes you used?

    Circulator

I dig the graphics. 86 pedals in a year is quite a workload. I built one last year and it kind of met some expectations, but also kind of a let down as well. I don't have any use for the vibrato mode so I'd just get rid of that switch. I'm also fine with 50% blend, so the blend knob is...

What are your favourite tube screamer mods?

I prefer an extra diode for asymmetrical clipping like the SD-1 or four diodes for a little less compressed and buzzy sound. LEDs are another good sub like someone already said.

    B25k instead of A25K?

The a50k with the 47k resistor on the outside legs will be close to 25k total resistance, but if I'm thinking right the taper will basically be reversed so it'll be close to c25k?

    Brass master build

Nice job! I haven't messed with vero board for a while because the offboard wiring can be so frustrating.

NYC Big Muff Pi to D.A.M. Dope Priest

There's the Dope Priest DP-77 then there's the XB-70. From what I've read XB-70 was the clone of the Foxey Lady while the Dope Priest was the version he tweaked to his taste. I built clones of both versions and liked the Dope Priest a little more. The XB-70 was cool and more typical Muff...

    schematic to layout converter?

Hamish, one of the little things on the vero layouts that always drove me nuts was when they would use a 1uf electrolytic cap and bend the legs so it spanned more than two neighboring holes that they should sit in. I'd rather run a jumper and make a cut if I have to just to avoid that. I'll even...

    Greengage OD (EQD plumes)

That looks great! How bright do you find it? I had a production version and it was just too bright to me unless the tone control was dumped most of the way. I really liked the LED clipping mode though and figured I could build something similar, but a little less piercing.

NYC Big Muff Pi to D.A.M. Dope Priest

I've used audio taper on the sustain pot one some higher gain Muffs and liked it. Adding a bright cap on the sustain pot is a cool mod too. I just don't like audio taper on the volume control because there's not that much volume output usually. It's easier for me to dial in with a linear taper...

NYC Big Muff Pi to D.A.M. Dope Priest

I mentioned it in the reddit post I think, but I used linear 100k pots for all three spots. The Vero layout said the DP used logarithmic taper 100ks on the sustain and volume, but I'm not sure that's accurate.

    Runoffgroove Ginger - bass loss?

If I were going to guess I would try replacing all three of the 220nf caps with 1uf caps just to see.

    schematic to layout converter?

I was bored before bed and made a quick layout. It could probably be cleaned up and compacted a little bit, but I spent ten minutes throwing it together. Try following each of the lines on the schematic and following them on this layout:

    schematic to layout converter?

DIYLC lets your draw layouts, but it doesn't automatically convert a schematic to a layout. You have to draw the layout yourself. Once you get used to vero board and it's horizontal traces it's pretty easy to make a layout for something simple like your fuzz box.
