I built both a few years ago and I prefer the stock/low gain version. Although I didn't think there was a ton of difference between the two. What wire are you using?

I'm using a GPCB Stage 3 Boost and when I put it after the GT I don't get the same interaction between pickups and boost with the buffer between them. I'm not a compressor always on kinda guy so it was a little bit of a bummer for me.

I recently finished the General Tso and really like it. Better than the Kompromat I finished a few weeks ago. The GT is really subtle and I like that. However, I'm not a huge fan of the buffer. It messes with a boost I keep in front of the chain. I wish there was a TB option.

I think the vactrol for the original is difficult to find. I also built the Waddle Box and I think I liked it a little more than the reissue. I don't care for the reverse mode either.

I compared mine to the reissue and I thought that the reissue didn't do have as pronounced of an effect. I liked it better how I tweaked it by ear.
