    Pickup winders? Raise your hands

There's a ton of pickup winder designs on thingieverse and yeggi. For all y'all that have 3d printers. I'll probably end up giving it a shot. Kinda curious to try winding humbuckers with Litz, experimenting with Alnico 8's. As a heavy metal guy, I've never gotten on well with actives. Or...

    Pickup winders? Raise your hands

I *could*. Theoretically. Right now I'm only doing wah inductors. Haven't tried pickups yet. Hmmmm....

    Vacuum-dehydrating hygroscopic components...

My next trick will be doing the same thing to carbon composition resistors that have drifted high. Those things are fairly porous and tend to suck up moisture if not stored wisely. I throw a desiccant packet in with all my CCs. One of my little projects that I've adopted for myself is buying...

    Jlcpcb and tariffs

Fo sho. I just did two 5 board prototype runs and a bundle of 40 patented Don't Fuck Up My Wah (TM) daughter boards. Paying about as much in shipping and tarriffs as in the boards. Had to abandon another design cause, like, the PCBa cost was a bit much. Gonna do things the old fashioned way.

    Desolders

I've got the same de-soldering iron. My take? Its fine. It's best for when you have, like, *a bunch* of de-soldering to do. Like if you're scavenging components. But it's bulky, and imprecise. And I don't trust the solenoid in it to like...not burst into flames in my hand. But it's...

    Vacuum-dehydrating hygroscopic components...

Yessir! Shoot, at this scale a peltier cooling system would do the trick. It'll suck down current like a teenager at a disreputable open bar, all right, but it'd work. Lets make the most power hungry fuzz face ever. The kind of thing that makes the lights dim when you plug it in. Hell yeah.

Stuff you wanted to know but were afraid to ask

Thats because typically the input jack is shorting the "ground" (typically, but not always negative). That one's like a normally open set of contacts: inserting a mono plug into a stereo jack that has the load (circuit) tied to the ring and the "ground" tied to the barrel shorts the ring and...

Recommend transistors for Titania2 and Simulcast?

Aion's version of the Hudson broadcast lists it as either a 2N404a or a MP20. They specify a gain range of 60-80hfe and leakage under 100uA. Not a difficult target to hit with A 1T308V/GT308V will fit that bill nicely. Russian transistors, their V looks like a capital B. I've got a bunch of...

Ceasar Chorus Rate knob always maxed

Check R4. Should be 10K, looks like you might have a 1K in there. Edit: nah, they're 5 band. Nvm. Double edit: R12: you've got a 12K in there, looks like. Needs to be 22k.

Wah Inductors. No hype. Just measurements.

You've got a Stalo on the way. Like. Soonish. I keep on getting distracted. My bad. Its already made, just gotta like...find time to actually do the work of putting together doomy's package with yours and figuring out how to do international mail. As if it was hard. I procrastinate. I...

    Vacuum-dehydrating hygroscopic components...

Nah dude. No dice. This was the component earlier: This thing would make a fantastic Q1 in a fuzz face if I could keep it below 50 degrees 100% of the time. At that point it's like, HFE 75, leakage 100uA. But the temperature coefficient on this thing is super touchy. Like, huge swings...

    Vacuum-dehydrating hygroscopic components...

Whelp, I've been having fun. Had a couple of sparks, just started grabbing at random values from the datasheet in terms of max Vce, max Ic, yada blah... Figures that my first real attempt to sit down with a breadboard and do some work would be torture testing transistors that were likely to be...

Wah Inductors. No hype. Just measurements.

A'ite folks: I've added a few more recently Of particular note are two additional fasels from two JEN mister crybaby supers that I was able to snag on the cheap recently. One red, one white. I've seen a bunch of colors online...green fasels exist somewhere. Orange fasels were available...

    Vacuum-dehydrating hygroscopic components...

A'ite, did a little more testing. Keep in mind I'm working with potentially deadly voltages here kiddos. Do not try this at home!! Anywho: let's melt some whiskers!!! Upshot? I melted the whiskers. But our leakage values are still crazy high. I'm curious if, perhaps, maybe I build a...

    Components material

Components. I'm a big fan of spending too much on components. Getting the super special deluxe audio-rated high quality bullshit. Paradoxically...I'm also a huge fan of spending too much on old, considerably less good, considerably more inconsistently constructed vintage components. For lots...
