DEMO Particle Accelerator (Sushi Box FX)

Everything in that signal chain sounds amazing, especially the PA! Love the Sultans of Swing tone. I'm exactly right now ruminating on graphics for my own PA build and this is making me very excited about it lol. What sort of paint is it that you used?

Lazy man's cheat sheet for driving latching relays

Nice, thank you. Yeah I agree, for me Digi-Key is the only feasible option of those as I am not in the US. Last time I looked into Mouser or Newark the shipping was way too much.

    A simple Relay Bypass

Ok I'm not gonna win any awards based on Chuck's scoring system, but here's another vero layout for you: Has two standing components, which I hate, but it was the way to get it the most compact.

Lazy man's cheat sheet for driving latching relays

Duly noted, great tip. I'm seeing that the AP7375 is an SMD part, are there any in TO-92 or similar packages that would drop-in replace a 78L05? Does e.g. Tayda sell any such devices?

Lazy man's cheat sheet for driving latching relays

Nice! There has been some discussion of this over at FSB previously, the system described therein is great and I've used it several times. There's a nice tutorial on how to set up an Arduino Uno as an ISP that I've also successfully used.

    What are your favorite components?

No import fees is definitely a huge bonus :ROFLMAO: Been getting roasted by that lately. Thanks for the input!

    What are your favorite components?

I prefer the Neutrik NYS229 for jacks, unless the build is super tight, in which case I'd use Lumbergs. For DC jacks I usually like the Cliff outies (or equivalent), but have been using the low-profile jacks more, too. I like to put soft-latch bypass systems in all my pedals, for the routine...

    What plectrum does everyone use?

I like the jazz-style picks, so I've got the following kicking around: Dunlop Ultex Jazz III 2.0 mm Dava 9204 Delrin Jazz Grips Dunlop Big Stubby 2.0 mm and 3.0 mm Dunlop Stubby Triangle 1.5 mm AS you can tell, I can't stand thin picks, lol. These days I find myself reaching for the 3 mm Big...

    batteries are weird

I'm a PhD candidate in chemistry and love this kind of stuff, so at the risk of sounding like a massive pedant, an impromptu chemistry lesson... You're sort of on the right track, but have a few terms confused here: What you're describing here is electronegativity, which is the propensity of...

    Intro to PCB design

I use and really like KiCad, it's powerful but easy to understand and there are a couple of good tutorials on YouTube about it (and it's free and open-source which is becoming increasingly important to me). I used this series: Back in the day I tried Eagle and found it completely inscrutable...

Regarding the Black Eye - I noticed in the Space Heater thread you mentioned increasing the coupling and cathode bypass caps to let through more low end (of course). Is this all you'd recommend if one wanted to make a Black Eye build bass-friendly, or is there something else? Also, what's the...

Particle Accelerator - Alembic F-2B clone

Thanks for this. I've been following you for a while and bought a Space Heater kit a while ago, then spent more $$ buying this and the EF the other day. Super stoked, now just need to find any spare time to build...
