Recommend a DIY Reverb that DOESN'T sound like an analog delay

Yep, that's why I bought 2 FV-1s! I wanted something simple for the first one (Radium), and will go from there. I have a Strymon BigSky, but need something simple/classic for a compact board to go with my 5E3.

Recommend a DIY Reverb that DOESN'T sound like an analog delay

Thanks - nope, didn't know it before, but that's kinda what I was thinking, based on there being more info about programming on the EEPROM chips (and that the ones with the PCB have pre-loaded configs) and no mention of coding on the FV-1 itself. This should be fun!

Recommend a DIY Reverb that DOESN'T sound like an analog delay

Got a couple of FV-1s ordered. Will probably start with the Radium Springs. Thx!

Recommend a DIY Reverb that DOESN'T sound like an analog delay

Yeah, guess it's the Belton Brick I'm not so keen on. I'll look into the FV-1, but that may lead to more questions; I have ZERO experience with programming ICs, but that sounds VERY interesting/promising.

Recommend a DIY Reverb that DOESN'T sound like an analog delay

You know, that 'bup-bup-bup-bup bup bup.....' echo. Any DIY reverbs that have a natural(ish) decay? Wampler Faux Reverb? Would like something for a small board when I take my Tweed Deluxe over to a cousin's place.

    Acetylene

Thanks - I'm basically trying to avoid that BM/cocked-wah midrange when I hit the boost. I just want a gain boost.

    Acetylene

I'll get that a shot. Do we know what that booster is based on?

    Thank you!

Board waiting here to be populated (other projects in line first). I'm just curious to see if there's a way to tweak the boost section for a full-range boost instead of just treble. (Some of us just want a straight-up gain boost, not wanting to sound just like Brian May).

    PAL959?

Interested as well. As much as I like gainy hard rock pedals, some Plexi midrangey 'bark' can be addictive. FWIW, the PAL800 (according to the schematic in the '800' doc) appears to be a lightly tweaked version of the JCM800 JFET circuit created by Electrictabs in the DIY community. Looks...

    MN3207 available at GuitarPCB

I only have two circuits that I'd use them in (Ibanez FL99 workalike and Boss HF-2), but yeah, would like to have a few on hand.

MT-2 / Metal Zone clone PCB

Kinda excited about this. The MT-2 was my first dirt pedal back in ‘94. Used that for a couple of years and it was a lot of fun. Don’t NEED one now, but would consider building one for nostalgia’s sake and because I’d probably have a little better control over it, or take a different approach...

    Recommend a volume pedal build

Got two raw/unfinished wah enclosure kits over the weekend; one for a Vox build, and one that will be used for a volume pedal. So, I need to know of a decent circuit to use for volume: it can be DIY PCB, fabbed PCB or vero. I saw the one at Tonepad (Anderton retrofit), but that sounds like it...

    Vox Wah: inductor?

Got a PCB pretty much done for a Vox (Clyde McCoy?) Wah, but curious about which inductor to use. I have a yellow Fasel in there now and waiting for the wah enclosure to be delivered. Just want to know if there is a proper inductor to use (although I’m not sweating over ‘vintage correct’), or if...

Etchers: cut first or etch first?

For those folks that etch PCBs, do you iron on (PnP Blue), then etch the board with multiple layouts, then cut the individual layouts out, or do you cut the layout pieces,THEN etch them separately? Just curious I’ve been doing a single board at a time (with 3 or more layouts ironed on) for as...

Complex OD vs Dirty Sanchez or Thermionic

Confirmed, you are correct: it is a 47K + 470p combination in parallel replacing that 2.2K resistor. I'll build out the PedalPCB Complex board and test drive that before tweaking the Thermion Deluxe.

Complex OD vs Dirty Sanchez or Thermionic

Yeah, I thought that should be in parallel as well, but still appears to be in series. I’ll triple check it tomorrow night or this weekend. I could map out a trace in Adobe Illustrator this weekend to be sure on everything, but I probably should just wait for the schematic. I’ll leave the 100KC...

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

I'd settle for the Complex OD drill template at this point.

Complex OD vs Dirty Sanchez or Thermionic

Thx! Ok, going by the Channel B (Dirty Sanchez side) of the Thermionic Deluxe, found these differences: R25B (4K7) + TIGHTB (100KC) - replace with 22K (or just leave in place and dial that combo down to 22K?) C8B (120p) - replace with 220p TRIMB (100K) - replace with 27K (or leave trimpot and...
