(Un)soldering the backs of pots (e.g. pickup wiring)

I have had similar issues with soldering to pots. Use the biggest tip you have for your iron and then I usually apply a little fresh solder to help get the old stuff heating up faster but ya it takes a while to heat up. I always get uncomfortable with how long it takes but you are right on.

Yessirree. I am going to place an order as soon as I find the correct gerbers to upload to JLC. JLC is being weird right now and I can't log in to my account or reset my password. Hopefully thats not a permanent problem.

    HK Rotosphere. Build in progres...

@temol Did you fabricate your PCBs from the layout Krueppel-Keile's posted on Feb 11th 2012 on freestompbox.org? @Feral Feline I am going to try and order some of these from JLC this week. You can have one if all goes to plan

    Katzenkönig: "King Eider Fuzz" (w/Gerber)

Nice! I like your designs homage to the original. I also love the sound of this circuit. I built the Aion version too. The Catalinbread Blood Donor is an updated version of the katzenkonig with quieter noise floor. Haven’t played one yet tho

Hell yeah! Been waiting for an update on this one. Can’t wait to see what you design for the enclosure. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Looks like I’m going to have to finally sign up for a freestompboxes.org account and see what’s going on over there haha

    Attenuators... Will Likely Need One

I also rarely actually use a cab. I use headphones 99% of the time. Cab still plugged into to attenuator but its silent when headphones are plugged in.

    Attenuators... Will Likely Need One

Each channel has its own volume control. I had the volume on about 4 or 5 on each channel. The amp has it's own "attenuator" switch in the back for 100% power, 50%, or 25% but it sounds terrible at 25%. Haven't tried 50% in a while.

    Attenuators... Will Likely Need One

Update: I had always used the Radial prodigy attenuator with 20w Marshall origin head. Recently I started using the Radial Prodigy with my Carvin X100B and the 100w might be overloading the Prodigy. It gets pretty hot damn hot to the touch after about 20 minutes of playing. I turned the amp...

Wondering if using flux on our usual pcbs (Aion's, Lectric FX, PPCB, etc.) is really necessary ?

what brand of flux do you guys like to use? I feel like it would help me out with reflowing some old stubborn joints on pcbs im troubleshooting and also it takes forever for my iron to heat up header pins for some reason. no problem with switches usually.

    Muffler: "Barn Owl Noise Gate"

I think this might be my favorite design of yours so far. The owl looks so majestic. I agree it might look cooler on metallic champagne but it still looks fantastic. Great work!

    Acrobat Parametric Distortion

Ya from the bottom edge. I cant quite see in the pictures how close it is to the bottom/lid of enclosure. Im worried about board clearence. I like the position of your volume knob. Thanks for checking I really appreciate it.

    Acrobat Parametric Distortion

How far from the bottom of the enclosure would you say you drilled the hole for the volume pot? closer to the bottom of the enclosure or middle? I am reworking my tayda drill template for this one to add volume pot.

    NPN Germanium sources?

I was troubleshooting earlier today and realized I am woefully under stocked NPN germanium’s. I’ve got tons of PNP for some reason. I have a few projects coming up that call for NPNs so gonna hit ebay. Anybody got any decent sources they like for NPN germanium’s? Ukrainian? Japanese? Russian...
