I'm not scared of SMD or anything. But I think it would be nice to have the option of having a pre-populated crossfader or microXLR for situations where time is of the essence. We have all been there. Famous rock star calls and says they needs two fuzzes in the same pedal with a crossfader...
I'm leaning towards JJ's because that's what I've always used in my other amps. But I am a sucker for cool logos and those Genelex Gold Lions look cool as hell. Electro Harmonix KT88s look good too.... then there are the blue bottle ones.... too many choices hahaha.
Would you go with Psvane KT88's if you were to do it again? I am building a KT88 amp as well and might grab some tubes from Antique Electronic Supply while the have 10% off.
What about putting a real spring tank in there while we’re at it. Then you could kick it for effect too. I built the Spaceman Effects Orion on Vero. It would definitely fit in one of those tall boy enclosures with another pcb and mini spring tank...
Looks like I need to track down some LM3914 or LM3916. Tayda, mouser, digikey are out. eBay has some questionable listings. Electric Druid has a replacement chip for $5 a pop. Anyone know a good eBay seller or other source for LM3916/4...
These are cool. Would it be difficult to incorporate these into pedal build?
