Function of transformers in dirt pedals

most of what I've seen is that with the transformer the broadcast is slightly darker and more saggy than without (again, the transformer under saturation is frequency-dependent) so this tracks ... but like a lot of other things, are you building the broadcast at that point where you're excluding...

Function of transformers in dirt pedals

well the gist of it here is that they're pummeling some poor transformer with signal and it is handling it (or not) in audibly interesting ways ... there's a practicality argument to be had but that's one application ... in a circuit like the tychobrahe octavia, it is used to step up the signal...

Function of transformers in dirt pedals

how familiar are you with transformer saturation?

    EHX Small Clone

remembering that those resistors are summing so if you replace with a single gang pot as a voltage divider setting the summing ratio, ideally you'd still want some series resistance for current limiting when one side or the other reaches 0 R

    Crankshaft: 1N60P Germanium diodes

speaking of children ... there are specific performance differences between germanium diodes and schottky diodes, especially in a simple circuit like the electra distortion where parts count is low so small changes get noticed more quickly ... simply matching up Vf isn't the only consideration...

    Crankshaft: 1N60P Germanium diodes

keep not learning anything, I'm sure it will make a great troubleshooting thread

    Crankshaft: 1N60P Germanium diodes

you don't know what you're talking about. 1n60p is not germanium nor are the diodes used in the speaker cranker ... you should maybe do a bit more research like reading the tracing thread over at freestompboxes

    1n60 are glass germanium… 1n60p are not

By Request ... a build report

the pads are not incorrect. if you look at my wiring, the in and out wires from the switch cross paths and I gave them extra room so I could ensure they crossed at about perpendicular to each other (a holdover best practice from amp building)

By Request ... a build report

I didn't use the toggles provided as there were only two and looked kinda cheap. I wanted a matched set so I got mine from lovemyswitches along with the brass insert knobs

the fourth setting of the range is no range capacitor ... so no wire needed

    Tayda out of stock

Nobody told him to do it ... I'm mostly curious for using in the loop of the sagan delay ... I got rid of a chorus I didn't like to fund another chorus I might not like ... all because I don't feel like taking on that ce-1 clone I picked up from a janky source over at madbean

    Tayda out of stock

btw took orders from three sources to pull off the low tide ... until smallbear reopens (and has the pot and the delay chip) I'm not a 100% on how you get this project down to two vendors ... I just did my shopping and it included tayda, guitarpcb, and stompboxparts (four if you count pedalpcb...

    Sunflower Cleanup Help

things of note: sunflower does use a charge pump and those aren't the same as battery power which isn't the same as carbon battery power (sunbeam brand from the dollar store are magic) wrt to playing the fuzz face in a more dynamic manner ... I took the Pepsi challenge on this one and it is one...

can I get a written note so @Big Monk will forgive my not finishing my low tide yet due to supply chain issues? nm ... went to stompboxparts ... got no good excuses now

    Propolis volume knob or trimpot

well look at that ... 330K ... probably shouldn't look at the schema on a phone ... the parallel resistance math still holds up ... 76K probably enough to prevent loss but certainly much less than 330K

    Propolis volume knob or trimpot

If you didn’t remove r17 not that this fuzz is capable of so much more than unity, if you didn't remove r17 before adding the pot then you actually made it less loud when the volume is full up because you added 100K of parallel resistance to that 33K resistor ... for what? 24-25K effective...
