Switch simulator - bypassing pedal auto power-on state

Thanks for that. I've used that method before to adjust the flip-flop circuit in Boss pedals. I don't know how to apply it for some of the newer ones like the SDE-3 (all SMD) and thought that if I find a solution that works for any pedal with a switch it would be easier in the long run. This...

    Micro XLR Hookups

Also, if you are using the Neutrik XLR socket (NC3MAAH), be aware it doesn't come with screws. https://www.neutrik.com/en/product/a-screw-1-8 (Mouser link) in case you don't have any laying around. I image anything close enough that will tap into the plastic housing will be fine.

    Micro XLR Hookups

I soldered up one of these tonight and it was super easy using a mini hotplate and liquid solder. My plan is to install it as an optional balanced output for the Emu Amp Sim. Are there any schematics floating around for options to wire this up in parallel to the main 1/4" out? I am assuming...

Switch simulator - bypassing pedal auto power-on state

Thanks a lot for the explanation and please excuse my ignorance. We have started on the ATTINY prototype, although it does sound like the 555 could be simpler. I don't know enough at the moment to implement it but will do some more research on that option later.

Switch simulator - bypassing pedal auto power-on state

Thankyou for the suggestion. Do you think this method would require less modification than simply tapping into the 9V rail and existing switch?

Switch simulator - bypassing pedal auto power-on state

Amazing, thankyou so much. I'll send you a message but would be very happy to pay for this if you don't mind and we can test it out. If we can get it to work it will ultimately save me hacking apart some nice old analog Boss pedals to bypass the flip-flop circuit as well as messing with the...

Switch simulator - bypassing pedal auto power-on state

Thanks so much for having a look. I don't want to impose on your time (or anyone else's), was just hoping someone may know of an existing product. It's such a niche use-case that I am guessing not. Space wouldn't really be an issue - it would mainly be making a PCB and then programming the...

Switch simulator - bypassing pedal auto power-on state

Hi, I have a few Boss and other pedals (some analog, some digital) in my rack that annoyingly power up with the effect disabled. I believe this solution is the least-intrusive way of solving that issue - it simulates a footswitch press after a short delay when powering up. I would have been...

    Enclosure Pro

Oh yes, and an import spec (or user-share file library) for PPCB projects - and even a Tayda export (even if just text values for the drilling tool).

    Enclosure Pro

Thanks, very useful software. As above, it would be even more amazing if it could trace or indicate the internal dimension of common components. I would definitely use this to plan out compact 1590LB projects.

    Chop Shop

A really unique touch-sensitive, transparent low-gain OD/boost. This gives sparkle to cleans, grit to low-gain and stacks beautifully with amp drive or other pedals. The output volume has plenty of headroom to push an amp into overdrive. The sag control helps to bring in a bit more...

Building an Arachnid FV-1 board into a Boss enclosure (project)

I fixed my rookie error.. It works perfectly and sounds great. Thanks Robert for this awesome circuit.

    Even more new Tayda colors!

In case anyone was wondering about printing on the white hammer finish - it turned out really well.

Building an Arachnid FV-1 board into a Boss enclosure (project)

Thanks so much. I'll fix this over the weekend and confirm. Appreciate the support.

Building an Arachnid FV-1 board into a Boss enclosure (project)

Thankyou Robert! I can't express how embarrassed I am at this.. Definitely the biggest slip of my pedal building adventure so far. A perfect example of trying to do too much too fast in late night bursts and not taking the time to diagnose for basic errors. What do you think the damage...

Building an Arachnid FV-1 board into a Boss enclosure (project)

That's a great idea! At the moment, I might leave a note to myself to test the board properly before install though..

Building an Arachnid FV-1 board into a Boss enclosure (project)

Thanks! I did consider the option of a small pilot hole for adjustments which I've done on other super compact builds, but thankfully the patches were all nicely unified in volume so that aspect has worked out perfectly. Firstly, everything works ideally and it sounds great - especially the...

Building an Arachnid FV-1 board into a Boss enclosure (project)

Done - powers up and switches fine, will have to test it in the morning.
