I use the LP2950 as a 78L05 drop-in replacement. Not quite as nice as the AP7375, but definitely better than 78L05, and readily available in through-hole TO-92 package.

That's a great rock and roll sound! All the guitars were straight into the amp, no effects (other than a little delay on the leads)? Does that also mean no post-recording EQ as well? How loud do you have to turn it up to get that tone?

Would I do that by feeding the pedal a generated signal, and then looking at the output on the scope? I’ve only used the scope once, so I’m not well versed in its use. I also have a computer audio interface… there’s presumably software for measuring distortion…
