I just finally got around to it today. I had been frustrated and grumbling about it and avoiding it. It was a bad ground on both the send and return. It’s dead quiet now, 😅 and I’m very relieved. Selling my Roadster this weekend!

Ok I’ve got a strange issue, there’s a lot of hiss and 60hz hum when I put pedals in the loop and power them. Signal fades in and out, almost as if it’s out of phase. Next I’ll try swapping preamp tubes to diagnose if the phase invertor or the loop buffer is bad. Then go over everything I can...

😂 this one looks blue in photos but is more purple in the room. I have one that’s labelled purple but looks more pink, so I went with what looks good in person lol

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into it when I open her up next! I would like to see how it sounds, I might put it on a switch so I can A/B it.

I tossed on some purple knobs, as I think it looks better and is my fav colour (they’re slightly higher quality than the black ones I get from Tayda) I’m really happy with how it all turned out. Thinking about selling the Roadster, but still debating.

First look at my cab from a local builder. I’m really impressed, can’t wait to pick it up tomorrow!

I don’t have that issue. I would check your preamp grounds and failing that, ask Sevino at Rosamp, he helped me figure out that I had the LDRs in backwards

The amp is alive! I had LDRs 1&2 installed incorrectly so it was gating the signal on the overdrive channel. It sounds amazing now, I can’t believe how much I love this amp. It’s glorious!

Today I finished wiring it! It puts out sound! Though it sounds farty and bad right now. There’s an issue with the wiring near the beginning of the preamp, so I’ll look at it tomorrow with some fresh eyes. For now here’s some pics of the finished product with some alternate knobs as I prefer...

It’s very rewarding. Pedals are nice for quick projects, but this is satisfying in a different way. I built a Princeton clone before where I sourced the parts, but never a full kit where it’s all here. It’s really nice!

It’s 20ga bus wire, came with the kit. I’m using it as the heater jumpers and preamp ground bus.

300v, I’m using it for the heaters and the preamp tubes. The power sections are using the 16/18ga that came with the kit.

Today I got a fair amount of the wiring done. I used the kit wire for some spots, but using my silicone insulated stuff for most, ‘cause I like it! I used the shielded wire from the kit and there’s just barely enough. Not sure about the other stuff, so beware if you build this, you might need to...
