    Issue with DOD 250

Oh that is definitely possible, I just compared to the board on the build docs, which seems a bit different (C4 and C5 arrangement for example)

    Issue with DOD 250

C7 is reversed, positive lug should be at the top. Check the polarity of the diodes as well, D1 is backwards. Diodes should be fine, type is ok. Check as well that you have contact between the third lug of the gain potentiometer, looks like a cold one :

    Bassman Tonemaster comparison

Frenzel have heads for this, plus a few tonal options that are pretty decent, I myself have the Princeton Plexi 964 and it is a dream after owning a princeton for decades. Super Bassman Bluesbreaker Mini-Bassman 50 Retro Super Bassman 100

    Ocelot GE diode?

a replacement can be found for cheap here for the 1S188-FM : 1K188FM have a look at this plot to compare diodes. You will see quite a few close match for anything you look for, 1S188 and 1K188 measure the exact same, just a different name, same diode

SOLVED Cattle Driver Volume pot operating issue

Try another TL072, not changing the values of resistors that are as indicated in the bill of material.

SOLVED Cattle Driver Volume pot operating issue

I would try another pot, just for the sake of eliminating that

Tayda order - EU Customs process

wow this is insane, I would just refuse the package altogether for that price. maximum I paid was about 20% in Germany and 10% cheaper for customs in Switzerland but 800 is insane. I'd contact DHL, there has to be a mistake..

Anybody willing to explain the Oxide (Ibanez Mostortion) 3-band EQ circuit to me?

C5 at 220n (with R8 = 2.7k) cuts the bass before clipping at 267.9376 Hz - that is the stock mostortion C5 at 47n (with R8 = 4.7k) cuts the bass before clipping at 720.4841 Hz - that is the stock tube screamer Play around with an RC high pass filter calculator (online example) to find what you...

    Quick Mojito BA482 question

I updated the plot, looks like you could swap with one of these C945 BJT, you can get 1000 on eBay for 10$. These work as well for the mojo MA85x diodes. If you get a chance to compare both or any others, it would be great to hear your thoughts.

    Quick Mojito BA482 question

You can without a doubt, whether you'd like the slight difference in sound (if any) is a matter of taste, could sound better, could sound worse. If you can get your hands on some, please let me know what you think of both ! I'll keep you posted on when I'll measure mine and put them in the...

    Quick Mojito BA482 question

Sorry for the essay, I'll make it smaller: - Clipping quality is subjective, I may like what you don't, in the end we are trying to reduce the quality of the signal by adding distortion. - Curve shows a specific threshold at a specific current - the signal current, the small current...

    Quick Mojito BA482 question

What I can tell you is that a diode allows some of the signal (here in V) to pass though (to ground for example in some design like the DS1) depending on the current (here in mA). Meaning the lower the threshold, the more signal goes to ground, this creates this saturation/compression. There is...

    Quick Mojito BA482 question

Oh I read it the other way around... I will get back to you when I added it to the graph. you can compare to the curve in the datasheet of the BA482 in the meantime (just the first line of curve 2, 0 to 10mA):

    Quick Mojito BA482 question

I think you can fairly say that you can sub a 1SS133 for an 1N4148, you can play around with that graph here and see, double click on 1SS33 to isolate it. I will add the BA482 soon,

SOLVED Need some ears to help me with a client’s concern about some ‘fizzle’

Sounds like he is a bit too close to his amp no? Honestly, this is sooooo faint, if anything at all. Not sure you'd even be able to reproduce this in a different configuration

What strings do you guys use?

I started using these nylon tape wound strings from Galli Strings about a decade ago and cannot switch back. I replace the G string with a plain one though.
