We got the lab rat up and running today. Totally dig it. Man, it’s loud! But a really nice low noise floor for a rat. I’m loving the EQ section and of course the build was super fun. I may do a proper build report in the future but for now I’m just gonna play with it and some mods as I built it...

The component values will be printed right on the pcb. You shouldn't need anything else to build them.

I’ve built a couple without them and sent them out with the same confidence. I use them mostly because I have a free supply of them and there is no way they can hurt. They look kinda cool. And they make for even spacing in the tube bay for those of us ocd nerds.

I use silicon damper rings as bumpers on all of my sushi box builds but those are too thick to fit. You need ones about half the diameter to make it.

Not mojo exactly, but I’ll be using infrared LEDs for that clipping option. In most circuits that use red LEDs for clipping I prefer IR. They have a slightly lower fv (the lowest of standard LEDs) than red. Squeezes out a bit more distortion at the sacrifice of volume but keeps the LED flavor...

I’m still super excited about this one. It’s cool to see people getting theirs. Mine still taking a long way tour around Illinois 🙄. I’m not usually a mojo gal, but this one has a metal can LM301 waiting for it. And I plan to do three-way clipping with an on off on.
