    Solder fume extractor

I found a roll of electrostatic filter material. I'm gonna try adding this in front of the activated carbon in my Weller extractor. 11 feet x 1 foot. Lifetime supply... The air makes static going through the first layer 100% polyester material, the static pulls the particles into the second...

    Solder fume extractor

Looked up on chemistry sites. Holy $#!+ it can evaporate at 20c!!!! I don't think it can evaporate when it's mixed in with other metals tho. 1940's & 50's government data on chelation therapy for arsenic and mercury "intoxication" Including pics of people detoxed and it only takes...

    Solder fume extractor

Strangely enough the lead isn't dangerous until it gets mixed with stomach acid. So don't eat your solder!!! Mercury is HIGHLY toxic tho, where were you exposed to that? If you breath mercury vapor, it turns back into metal in your lungs and starts ripping through tissues until it hits the...

    Solder fume extractor

My colloquial expression for "The A/C fan". Good friend that I grew up with owned a $32 million a year A/C company here in the San Fernando Valley. I was a computer programmer, but grew up with Mason's as my uncles. So I tiled the floors, bathroom and kitchen in his house and he installed A/C...

    Solder fume extractor

Agreed, but the roof of my shop is AFU for the past 3 years as I dug my way out of debt post-wife-died-after-vaccine. I have a 48" 1200cfm range hood that was shipped to me by mistake that I'm going to install after I save the $2k to fix the roof. Right now I'm working on a 8' table in the...

Monoprice Stage Right 15W amp rebuild

As an expert in manufacturing, all I can say is Scrap/MRB/Rework is the most important part of product development, along with version control, operator tracking, etc. Sounds like they may not have a firm grasp on that yet. Good luck with the iron.

Didn't feel a thing! Fun fact, there are over 200 quakes in CA every day but most happen in uninhabited areas.... I was a block away from the epicenter of the '71 quake and 4 miles from the epicenter of the '94 quake. Both very VERY bad quakes.... Both very early in the morning.

Crate V33 head powering issue (gut shots included)

Hey, this was on TGP on a question about the reliability of PCB vs PTP. Sounds like exactly what has happened to your amp. Have you had any luck with trouble shooting this?

Crate V33 head powering issue (gut shots included)

Well, the 6.3vac has a LOT of amps. It makes the tubes glow red and if the bias is adjusted wrong it can MELT GLASS, so it could very well have caused that if it maybe just vibrated loose and arced. I noticed you put your post on a 12 year old post. A lot of people don't even look at necro...

I myself am swamped with housework and am going to be mostly offline for the next few days. Try joining TheGearPage and make a new post "Help me with my modded V33". This is the link https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?forums/amps-cabs-tech-corner-amplifier-cab-speakers.11/ Serious...

    Recommend me a signal generator

In my own defense, I'd like to point out that I wanted something nice for my birthday 2024 and I had just paid off the Credit Card which got clobbered with medical/funeral expenses when my wife kicked the bucket in 2021. I started by looking at kits, then assembled kits, then really old RED LED...

    Deciding on first amp build

Well the tweed deluxe is a great sounding amp. Neil Young, ZZ Top.... the list goes on. It's a bit more work, but not a whole lot more. The cabs from Mojo come fully assembled, the cabs from Weber are not, and they don't have *any* instructions. zip, nada, null set, and they are not void...

    Deciding on first amp build

You should start simple. Tremolo and Reverb can be tricky to get running. The 5F2 is a simple build and has great sound. I started with 5e3, which has more connections and takes longer. This was around 2003-ish. Mojotone is a USA seller, generally has better quality components than Weber...
