    when to use mlcc capacitors

Or even there’s the possibility the not-so-good specs actually sound better … There’s a few threads on forums in bass land where people have tried to trace and clone the Wal bass filter preamp - and EVERY SINGLE TIME I’ve seen it the person goes “oh wow the IC used is prehistoric we’ll have to...

I made a batch of 6 early 2025 - and then the power socket went out of production and took a while to find a good supplier for one (didnt want to...

I think I made about 5 things so in order… 5. I tried to mash together the broughton HPF/LPF in a loop of the skeptical buffer. It worked but wasn’t great at all. There’s better ways to mess up your impedances. 4. Skeptical buffer. If you want to know what your bass/guitar sounds like with a...

I did something I'm not proud of ....

I made a load of PedalPCB stuff and then started on KiCad and laying out my own pcb … I couldn’t get the traces to work without being silly lengths it too a while to realise that if I wanted to have things at 45 degree angles and nothing lining up … then nobody would be able to stop me!!

What's your thoughts on Brian Wampler's new Video Courses?

Like... it's like cooking, its' recipes not magic... My fave recipe I've found... Make a PPCB chop shop, follow the whole "you need certain value JFETS in the positions for this one" advice. It's good. Read about the SS/BS mini, realise it's the same topology - so use the same spec JFETs...

What's your thoughts on Brian Wampler's new Video Courses?

So I know nothing about Brian and Wampler don't really make pedals popular on bass so I know little of his work (goes to check I've not forgotten something bass players like) but the adverts running on social annoy me... Now I have no reason to doubt these are the best pedal building online...
