For the Ge diode, any Ge diode should be fine. I believe, based on my googling, that the CG92H IS equivalent to an OA95 and has a Vf of about .4v at 1mA. So a D9G or D9K should work and they're easy to find on eBay or StompBoxParts. I'm sure you could use another diode type (Si, Schottky, or...

Been working on getting 3d models working in KiCAD and decided to make a simple IO board. Now to see if I can fit @PedalBuilder 's fancy 9v limiting circuit into this with smd or if I'll have to go a little larger on the pcb to make it work.

Yes, there are a wide variety of options in it. I managed to get everything from a clean boost to a typical big muff and a nice wooly fuzz from it.

I have to agree, I flipped a bunch of switches and then just landed on one setting that I liked the best. It's the illusion of choice!
