I have a Dead End FX Inchdown Redux to build and it calls for ferrite beads but specifies no values. There are 2 of them in the power section of the pedal. Any clues as to what to buy? Thanks

It was probably a soldering and an IC problem. I re-flowed the solder and found at least one unsoldered leg and a pair of crossed legs improperly trimmed. Re-flowing solder forces one to look at every part of the underside. The signal stopped at one IC and once replace it works. I used the...

Thanks for replying. zero volts on the right side of the resistor. It makes no sense for what minimal knowledge I have of these things. Good idea on pulling the ICs. I'll give it a try.

I'm reposting this after some further work. R44 below has voltage (9V) to it's left but none on the right leading to IC4. The value is correct and I even replaced it yesterday just in case. The network of connections goes to each IC on the board. Obviously no IC gets power. There is power...

Excellent point. Even if I end up not liking it that’s OK. I got it to work and the most significant costs were the enclosure and the board itself. I have about 4 other projects that don’t work to one degree or another.

If you don't wire the jacks to those grounds it won't work. Been there and done that after, in my building days, I just let the the case act as the common ground.

R44 is correct. For each IC pins 4 and 8 are both connected to ground when tested for continuity. I would have expected this for pin 4 but not pin 8. But, I dropped out of electrical engineering. There is no voltage coming out of R44 in the side opposite of the diode.

The image is just the power section of a distortion pedal I’m building. I. Left out the larger schematic since there. Is no power up to and past the IC shown.. As i mantioned I need to reverify the switch wiring shown above. It has 2 3PDT foot switches.

Thanks. The only parts showing any power are the LEDs shown in the schematic. No power to any of the 5 ICs. The only logical thing is to look at the switching.

Based on this schematic snippet what should be the voltage at pin 3 on IC4? I get the correct voltages at the LEDs but zero it pin 3. Thanks
